Past the all the bad stuff and I see a lots of your points. Yes some guys are inept but some are women too. The difference is that a woman can post a landscape as a pic and "Ask Me" or "Fill in later" as a profile and still get msgs. Never mind the scowls that I have seen as profiles. By "players" I meant guys that are married and/or just want to hook-up but pose as "looking for a relationship". Many are very adept at pushing the right buttons. Whilst so many decent guys are not. Okay maybe they they not taken the time and trouble to study what works and what does not? Maybe they think that people are accepting and non-judgemental. All I asked in my post was that if You ladies are not finding what you want? Then perhaps its time to look in different places?

I do not say "Any" but glad you mentioned pheromones. I think a lot has to do with desire. It is inversely proportional to objective desirability of a potential mate. For example its is not uprising that so many women nowadays find the love of their life just when the biological clock gets louder. A very similar effect to "beer goggles" in men. So the answer is, that it not that there is no one "out there". Just no one that as yet "floats your boat". As we get older gravity does seem to be harder to overcome.

@Ruby_Slipper I attach no blame to the terms. I use them in the same way I would describe a poker player. A conservative or cautious player will look for reasons reject a hand and fold. A passive one reasons accept and call. An aggressive one reasons to enthusiastically raise. What I would say if I can carry on the poker analogy further. If your losing too many times fold more and if you cant get any action, call more or maybe throw something into the pot?

@Maiasaura No, we all make judgements on the information available. My point was given these facts. A, that there are more men than women B, ladies say they just want a good guy. C, They are there for months and still looking. Somethings dont add up. All the guys cannot be dicks so maybe the gals are not being honest. If not online then maybe to themselves? Maybe the parameters of their wish list are too narrow or worse still will attract the wrong type of guy?

@Ruby_Slipper I not "EXPECT" anything. A level of politeness, even if its "no thanks" would be nice I do not get it but that does not mean I should return in kind. I always reply even to the no thank you`s with a good luck and thank you for replying. When I am told that I am too old or look like father christmas. I do not get bitter. I do not blame women. I DO sometimes blame abusive men. Men who have fucked up women's lives with physical and or sexual abuse. Men who think its okay to insult someone online or show them their dick That leaves so many ladies with trust issues. And yes some women are heartless cows that can leave some guys with trust issues too. If some women choose to be shallow then thats their choice but dont complain if all the guys you meet are dicks. As for involuntary celibate, some people just are. Not everyone is good looking, confident or outwardly sexualy attractive. This applies to both sexes as evidenced by some of the comments to my post. Yes if we really try we can meet someone but not everyone is up for the struggle. As for myself I have been voluntarily celibate for over a year. This was due to a depression brought on by a break up. I am over it now and dating again. Why? because I love women.

@Ruby_Slipper There have been a lot of comment on this post and if I have read too quickly and not in enough depth I apologise. However my assumption of quick judgement may have not been too far adrift. "which suggests you may have an unhealthy fear of women yourself". I know this may come across as "some of my best friends are....." but I just did a quick count up and of the 7 closest friends that I have 2 are men and 5 are women. So make of that what you will. The point of my post was, If the women I see there month after month and sometimes longer really wanted a good guy? Surely they might have found one by then. Perhaps they have been too quick to discard or maybe they are not being honest and really only want a series casual online chats or 1st dates. As for socially awkward re-incel. This seems to be a modern buz term. Yes there have been some very bad extremes of behaviour labeled as incel. I however prefer the term "hurt". This is common to both sexes and though women are more likely to have been physically hurt. Men carry their scars too. The opposite sex can by scary for both sexes but also fascinating and engaging. Not all awkward people fall into this category some (of either sex) are just plain shy. The 7 dwarfs redefined... Happy. ...bi polar Sleepy. ...depressed Dopey. ...dyslexic Bashful. ...incel Sneezy.....Hyperallergic Grumpy....Dangerously incel

@Sticks48 Name a boxer from Philly who worked in a meat packing plant that became heavyweight champion. Ended up owning a gym. No not Rocky but Frazier. He took a very different view. During that time when he (Ali) was stripped of his boxing license. Frazier supported him, gave him money and campaigned to get him reinstated. Then Ali called him an uncle Tom and a gorilla. Imagine just how insulting that is for a black guy? The last fight they had was stopped in the last round because Frazier was taking too much punishment. Asked If he would like to have continued even if it killed him he said "Sure because I did not want to win. I wanted to kill him. See the way Ali is now? Thats not parkinsons, I did that to him." and he was smiling as he said it. The post asked if there is something I changed my mind about. A lot of Ali`s stance on Vietnam etc. came not from him but the Muslim teachers he had at that time. Not to say that he was wrong or that he was not a hero for standing up but then again not everything is as black and white as we think when we are younger.

273kelvin replies on Oct 14, 2018:
@FrayedBear You miss the point of the song. It was written in response to the news of the world scandal and makes the proposition that it is people who buy the rags that are equally if not more responsible for the resultant extremes. The irony of the outpouring of grief over lady Diana was that the very people grieving were the cause of her death. If they had not devoured all the articles and pictures then the paparazzi would not have been chasing her. The "scousers" are given only as a shinning example of how we should be more selective in our reading habits. I can understand your dislike of Billy Bragg and I too as you know am a fan of Ewan Maccoll but the times are always a changing and the protest song movement must move on as well. Personal taste can often cloud judgement of any art form. I for one dislike opera but I do not say it has no art only that it is not my cup of tea. Maybe this might be more to your taste. It is by Roy Harpers son Nick. The whole album is topical protest songs dealing with subjects from brexit to Trump. Worth buying if you cannot get for free. https://youtu.be/n9z4yRr2zsw

Sexism goes both ways you know. I ask you this, would you have been so quick to jump down my throat if I were female?and dont say a woman would not ask that because you are not all women.

@LiterateHiker I am not saying I do or that you do. What I asked is "Is she tainted" ie. do others judge her by association? I cannot speak to whether it was love or not but the marriage did seem to be more of convenience than love. That`s what it came across as. How can this be deemed as sexist when the 1st person I condemned was him? Not every negative comment about any woman is sexist. We have a right wing woman PM (not the 1st). If I call her incompertant and uncaring just as I might if she were a he. Am I then sexist? When you stand for high office ALL aspects of your life will be subject to close scrutiny. That cannot have been the 1st time Bill strayed just the 1st time he got caught. And yes if the sexes were reversed I would say the same thing.

@Amisja I am a remainer, too but lets just deal with one point, nurses. At present we import staff from other counties. This drains their human resources and relieves not only the pressure on the NHS but also allows us to underpay and not train enough of our own. This is continued though many industries from construction to engineering. There is no denying that the EU is a bureaucratic monolith. 28 nations upteen languages all to be debated and translated from things like Latvian to Welsh, Maliese to Polish. It is rife with corruption, the common agricultural policy being a prime example (portable olive groves in Sicily). The european court of human rights blocking us from deporting Abu Qatada. A vile man who spouted and encouraged religious hate crimes. So even though I think on balance that we should have stayed I can see their point and its not all about migrants.

@Amisja Again you assume it was a single issue. Okay a tale of 2 people I know and worked with. Dan is from Bulgaria we worked together of a 2 week contact and he stayed at my gfs (she does lodgers). He told me of work in his home. how a shop worker might expect £150 per month, a skilled guy £250. The main employer was the local aluminium works. The drawback was it is impossible to work there for more than 2 weeks. With every mask available shit still got onto your lungs and 2 weeks was tops. After that you were laid up for at least a week, lying in bed barely able to breath. Ian owns a small business in Manchester. He makes kids beds. They are well designed and if you were a kid you would want one ( check out "kids dream beds"). They are made of MDMF a highly toxic material when cut. It contains formaldehyde amongst other things and the regs regarding it use in manufacture are quite rightly very strict. That guy is competing with every other guy n europe. If it was a level playing field then no one would care but its not.

@Amisja I agree with what youre saying but your original comment was exclusive "People for voted because...." It tars everyone with the same brush that you would be loath to do if it were on race, culture or sexual orientation. The white working class feels that it has been disenfranchised by successive govts on both sides. Calling them dumb is patronizing, snobbish and counterproductive. As for fruit pickers? Well I used to go vegetable picking in my youth maybe we should pay the real price for our food and give the people who pick them a decent wage instead of imperialistically using 2nd world imported labour? Then what about the huge skills shortage in the UK? Why would a small or large firm train an apprentice when they can import skilled labor as and when? Young people have been encouraged to go to uni and take subjects such as media studies or gender politics. Not something a lad living on a council estate might be drawn to. I have not seen much encouragement or help in him becoming a plumber.
I have never been more disgusted or ashamed of this country than I am today.
