Sometimes a "Hi" is just a simple feeler put out to someone who has not given you much to go on. For example if their profile says "lets talk about it" what more can you say? A "Hi" back says "I do not find your profile repulsive either." You live reasonably close and are of similar age, background etc. I always respond to all msgs Although it is a very difficult medium to correspond in. Often you feel that each sentence is going to be scrutinized and annualized like a job interview or a court statement.

@Bignate901 Criminal justice is a good point. If your view was accepted. all pleas would be "not guilty" as I had no choice in the matter. Also any improvements would have to be a conscious decision. made at a bureaucratic level or at the ballot box, thus negating your argument. Democracy would be defunct and we would only have a bureaucracy.

273kelvin replies on Jun 11, 2018:
@Bignate901 Logic and reason are not always truth based.Often it is a qualitative decision. Take for example the copernican revolution. In relativity terms, it makes no difference if the earth revolves around the sun or vice versa. It just that the Ptolemy system was crap and Copernicus was better. There are lots of other bits of science thats not 100% provable truth, like evolution. Its just the best that we have. Bear this in mind when you talk about free will. You have 2 distinct premises. Your point of view says that you have little or no say in your destiny. Whether or not you smoke or give up. Quit your job or go for that promotion. Stay where you grew up or move. Believe in god or not. Veg out or do that thing. Your standpoint if accepted as universal truth. It would see no motivation for art or any other improvements to the world. Why would anybody bother? Just roll another spliff and leave that unfinished masterpiece where it is. Its not my choice anyway. My view empowers you. Cards are shuffled and dealt, you have no say in that. What race, class, parents. home town and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is aye to, thats fate. You wanna live longer you can not smoke, watch your weight etc. No guarantees but your odds are improved. If you cheat on your woman or not, stay with or go. Thats how you play the cards. You accept responsibility for your actions good and bad. Try to learn from them and move on. My point may or may not be true but I think its better.

springlover comments on Jun 11, 2018:

273kelvin replies on Jun 11, 2018:
The Philharmonic is an interesting pub for visitors. Good food and an art nouveau listed gents toilet (guys will readily make sure its empty for ladies to look at it). It was the Beatles favorite haunt before they became famous. Probably why Macca did that gig yesterday. There are lots of reasons why a pub can be a good visit, decor, food, beer or sometimes just the staff.

She (Janet) failed to see the agony of sister-in-law, watching the young man she loved. Die a slow and horrible death. She only saw her own hurt.

Bush Sr yes Bush Jr no. Rich kid into booze and whatever. Never had to do a real days work in his life. Carter for sure, farm boy. Interesting question though. They all, bleat on about " the little hard working people" but how many of them actually know what it is to come home so physically tired you cannot move but you move anyway because the day is not done?

@MissKathleen, @bigpawbullets Since one of your suggestions is treasonous and I am unsure if conspiracy to kill a former president counts as treason under US law. (They are still called Mr President) Which carries the death penalty I presume. You would both have to be tied to said former west wing resident, as you pushed them in. So does that change your mind any? What I propose is a big brother in reverse. As each housemate is evicted , down they go till the gods are appeased.

@Countrycuz666 Car jacking is not that popular in the UK. We dont let any idiot own a gun so illegal ones are expensive and quite hard to get. Though I live in an inner-city area and there are the occasional shootings. It is far less dangerous than say being a school child in the US. Besides that, not being in need of a penis extension. So I doubt if anyone would bother to jack my car.

@Countrycuz666 It is a common mistake to confuse climate with weather. Each year we are getting record breaking extreme weather events. A strong indication of climate change. Rather like an athlete suddenly getting really fast really quickly would be an indication of performance enhancing drugs. The US is getting more and bigger hurricanes every year but you can put your fingers and say la la la till your house blows down.
Please be honest when you answer this question.

@Countrycuz666 We have a similar type of guy but from the left, Cobyn who nearly got in. He commands the same kind of fervor from his supporters. Not sure that Trump would have beaten a better candidate. As for comments, seeing as 80% of yanks dont own a passport and would be hard pressed to name more than 2 world leaders, that is no biggie. Also Trump is never off the news. I cant look at my FB feed without at least 2 stories regarding investigations or mad tweets. I dont own an umbrella but the weather here never takes out houses. @daylily Well Ray says " I was the youngest child with 8 older sisters... then Dave came along". He also points out (on stage) that Dave had a different dad. Things got really heavy when Dave was about to do "Death of a clown" and Ray starts up "Lola." Cymbals thrown across the stage etc. Nice one though was the song "David Watts" (covered by the Jam). Its about Ray trying to match his brother up with an ex army major with pink socks (if you get my drift) of the same name. last I heard Dave is not doing well (health problems) but they are still brothers and with all that entails except they are band members too

@Countrycuz666 There are two types of racist jokes. I will use Martians so as not to coarse offence. "The thing about martians is they think that they own the fucking planet" or " A space-ship carrying martians crashed yesterday. I was heartbroken....It had empty seats." The former is uses cultural/racial archetypes to throw humour into our multi-cultural mix. They may coarse offence but there may have been some grains of truth if not now but in the past, that is what makes them funny. Irish, Italians and rednecks are thick. Scots and jews are stingy you get the drift. Hell Im from Liverpool and all the jokes are about how we are all thieves. The second type is not funny. It is hateful, divisive and though it may be acceptable to pass around your racist friends in private. it is NOT for public consummation. Especially if you are in the public eye. Rosanne Barrs tweet was of the latter kind and she deserves everything she gets. Not only that but she brings into disrepute any and all Trump supporters. If that is possible? I am sure there must be some good ones out there, you cant all be racist twats can you?
