This looks like a very good thing; apparently, Jeff Bezos finally woke up.

Do you think you need romance to have love, or can you have love without romance?
A2Jennifer comments on Oct 2, 2018:
I think genuine romance (as opposed to canned, standard romance) is about thinking about your partner as an individual, and what will make them feel happy and loved and valued. And i think you must love someone selflessly to connect that way.
If it is not a fit.
A2Jennifer comments on Oct 2, 2018:
That’s why I have set the expectation that anyone I seriously date must think I’m amazing.

A2Jennifer comments on Oct 1, 2018:
I would be fine with that. My marriage was a nightmare so marriage is not a destination for me. I might consider it, if it was what the right partner really wanted, but I don’t see myself ever pushing for that.

When it comes to tongue, less is more. Don’t think about it too much - it’s not a thinking thing, it’s a feeling thing.
How can one be reasonably empathetic to someone without empathy?
A2Jennifer comments on Sep 29, 2018:
People who lack empathy can sniff out empathic people and target them. So yes, they can be dangerous. I spent years empathizing for someone about his harming me. He was hurtful to me because his childhood sucked, because that’s how he was raised, etc. It is ok, necessary even, to set and stick to firm boundaries with such people. The willingness to treat even nasty, selfish people with fairness and humanity IS empathic, and it is all that we owe anyone, especially someone who would do you harm.

A2Jennifer comments on Sep 29, 2018:
I would limit the maximum salary of a CEO/highest paid employee to a ratio related to what their lowest paid employee earns. Not sure exactly what the ratio would be, but at some point, to give the CEO a raise you would have to increase the wage of the worker bees. So no one would be bragging about having more money than they could spend in 10 lifetimes while paying employees so little that they qualify for government assistance.
Do Americans feel guilty about their history?
A2Jennifer comments on Sep 28, 2018:
Well, those of us who are self-aware tend to be seriously concerned about the past and present (oh and the future) of our country. We are still climbing out of the legacy of slavery and racism. POC to this day are disproportionately more likely to be murdered by the people who are charged with protecting us, to be caught up in an unjust “justice” system and to be stuck in a cycle of poverty. We are in the midst of a reckoning related to sexual abuse. There are a wealthy people who have more money than they could spend in 10 lifetimes, while 1 in 4 children lives with food insecurity and we have a vast homeless population. These are just a few serious concerns we could address if we truly wanted to “make America great.”
I've asked this question in a different forum, and the answers were interesting.
A2Jennifer comments on Sep 28, 2018:
I didn’t really date before I was married for a long time, so I was a dating newbie after my divorce. Luckily my best friend taught me some basic safety rules. First meeting always in a public place - do not give him your address nor get into his car on first meet. Before date, give best friend time, location and info on date (name, phone number, etc) Friend checks in at a pre-determined time to make sure you are ok. As for guys - there is really nothing to be “worried” about if you treat women like human beings. Then, Make sure she’s into you before touching her. Make sure she is enthusiastically consenting to sex rather than “giving in” to persistence.
Do you think a boy really knows how to act with a girl and how does he learn that?
A2Jennifer comments on Sep 28, 2018:
I think a boy learns how to treat a girl. There are a lot of behaviors that have been accepted, encouraged by society that objectify and diminish women and that does not make them ok. We are working toward a culture shift. But no matter what the culture, no one thinks it’s ok to pin down a crying girl and muffle her screams while you... well, anything.
Going to drive an hour tomorrow to meet someone I have been speaking to for three weeks.

I just got accused of having a "Sociopathic attitude" towards people with cluster B personality ...
A2Jennifer comments on Sep 28, 2018:
I have encountered the same behavior a couple of times in response to comments about behaviors of borderline personality - “how dare you make generalizations about people with X personality disorder!” These disorders are defined by certain behaviors and the people who exhibit them are typically in denial about the disorder/behaviors/ consequences to others. Those are typical manipulative behaviors of sociopaths and narcissists - recasting themselves as a victim, “NO YOU’RE THE SOCIOPATH” bullying, threats. Don’t take it personally.
It’s time to move.

Recently a woman was beated in her home by her gun owning husband.
A2Jennifer comments on Sep 23, 2018:
The vast majority of murdered women are killed by a romantic partner (past or present). Many have been involved with the legal system before their murder. It seems obvious that someone convicted of DV should not have access to guns, but the courts often don’t take it seriously enough.

A2Jennifer comments on Sep 22, 2018:

It is a business masquerading as a religion. They sell people “happiness” and self-actualization in the form of books and classes that they must continue to buy - they bully people into taking out loans to do so, for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. and when it doesn’t fix you, it’s because you didn’t try hard enough.
