I’ve always been atheist but as time goes on I see more and more ways religion is just bad so anti-theist is closer to the mark. I’m a divorced dad of 3 and a vegan meditating musician.

I demand sensible gun laws, no military style weapons, waiting periods, background checks, over 21 and proper follow up of all leads for people who are a concern. My kids go to school everyday knowing what could happen and I have to send them! That’s not exceptable for any parent, child or human. Fuck the NRA!!!! And while I’m on one fuck Ted Nugent.

Your not wrong, I found it no different from the male perspective... either they want to get Uber serious out of the gate or they are looking for a preconceived perfection that nobody could fit. I’m in the no expectations zone... I’m not here to date, actually I’ve started seeing someone and we will see how it goes... she isn’t the normal hipppie type I usually am attracted to but then in the long run that has not gone that well. I don’t cheat but have been cheated on and I’m weary and wary of it all... going with the flow and doing my best not to be attached to a particular outcome is how I plan to move forward. I’ve finally learned my happiness is my responsibility, if someone else who is already happy wants to be happy together that will be grand. I have nothing in common with the girl I’m seeing and so far that has not been a problem.

That’s a really cool old parlor guitar, definitely solid wood and a spruce top, I so what someone to give one of those.. I have a 1903 Gibson L1 in the same parlour size but with an arched top, love them.

Good, I like when people have had enough and do something, hopefully you are being active outside of this microcosm as well... I have several activist related twitter pages and find that to be an effective tool for drumming up support and spreading a message. I’m more focused on politics and feel a change in leadership will put people in place to address related issues such as gun control and police shootings but all fronts need representation, kudos

Not as a truth or way of life/death ... as part of sociology as it relates to history and what religion has done for art, music and architecture while being certain not to leave out the death & suffering.
Does it bother anybody when you see someone clicking, like, on all posts & comments?
ArdentAtheist comments on Apr 21, 2018:
I will at times click them all, I read each one and consider my click their reward for contributing, long as they have done it without pissing me off they get a like... as far as points go, remember the post you like is getting points as well, never has upset me to get more people acknowledge my post, like a nod that we have that in-common, it’s how we build a community.

Funny that we call the people of the future “we” when “we” will all be dead. It’s evidence built into the language that while we as individuals can’t beat death our genes can. It’s just a shame it lives on without this versions memories and consciousness. We will have 6 toes, big heads and our genetalia will all be above average, isn’t that nice?

How do you respond as a vegetarian / vegan to people who say they only eat meat from locally ...
ArdentAtheist comments on May 4, 2018:
I would say none for me, I simply don’t need or want it. I became vegan to get the better health that I am in fact getting. What your doing is better but still your missing the point. At some point someone taps a pig on the shoulder and says, we have run out of bacon, please come with me. Since becoming vegan my blood pressure problems went away, an inner ear problem cleared up, I lost weight, I never get indigestion or related problems, heart burn doesn’t exist and finally I have mostly solved a 30 something year long debilitating migraine problem that doctors could not help me get under control. Meat and dairy are poison even if “Humanely procured”. The addiction to animal products is cultural and mental, if you trully pay attention to how what you eat makes you feel and be honest with yourself you would probably make some changes.
How are you doing today?
ArdentAtheist comments on May 5, 2018:
I’m asked this many times a day and many times a day I say, “unbelievable”. I prefer a statement to a question… Good morning as opposed to, how’s your morning? But in many situations I can also be a good listener.

The wine currently in the house gives me a headache, did some research and found it was not vegan... I’ll go to Trader Joe’s Monday and get some vegan wine, where can o get a WTF glass? I had a scotch last night while we sat around singing and playing guitar. Some of the songs I was playing we’re so old I almost went and made a gimlet.

I smoked for a year or so in the 80’s so i remained tolerant of it but these days I’m a health conscious vegan, deal breaker... if I was here to date.

Coffee! The elixer of life! Without this delicious and stimulating brew I can barely function.
ArdentAtheist comments on May 10, 2018:
I love coffee, skipping it I risk triggering a migraine and that I don’t love. 3 pots would probably kill me... I sometimes drink an entire pot of espresso, that’s 4 demitasse cups worth or one mug. The meditation gurus are very against caffeine, it’s not good for meditation, it feeds monkey brain, it can take longer to calm the mind. I gave up all fast food, ciggeretts, cigars and all meat and dairy over the last 6ish years, giving up coffee would be harder than any of that, plus I really don’t want to... I take it black, no sugar. Having just enough without going crazy is my preference but that 2nd cup is alluring.
Where do agnostics go when they die?
ArdentAtheist comments on May 10, 2018:
We ascend to heaven to dwell forever in the house of the lord. ...um wait, I confused that with a plaigerized myth designed to control the masses and bring power and wealth to the elite. We don’t go, we stop... when your car dies it’s still there. We are caporal beings... primates, do you think there is a monkey heaven? Because we are smarter but still basically a monkey, we are smarter but not always wiser.
I honestly cannot think what to say about this...

My ex was jealous of my guitar playing, would complain that she had no hobbies... suggested I “grow up and stop playing the guitar”, I told her to tell that to Andrea Segovia! ... it should be noted that she started out as a groupie, she would hang out around the rehearsal space writing out all of our lyrics. Also I was making money as a guitarist and a teacher. She had been a poet when we met and it was her artistic spirit that attracted me to her, she stopped her writing and chose to attack my art instead, i’ve played guitar since I was 4, I was not going to stop for anyone, ...there you have a recipe for divorce... never sugest a musician stop playing because you can’t find a hobby, that was irritating. Had it been snoring or something I would have been fine.

This is related to the "Loneliness kills" post earlier today.
ArdentAtheist comments on May 25, 2018:
A quote that I read in a meme somewhere… “If you’re lonely you’re in bad company“. Of course there’s more to it than that but your post brought to mind that meme. There is however some truth to it though. if I’m not in a great mood getting together with friends can lift me out of it but if I am in a great mood I can toil in solitude for hours and wonder where the time went.

Do you believe in life after death of any kind?
ArdentAtheist comments on May 27, 2018:
Belief could be a strong word for it as it is temperd with a scale tipping amount of doubt. I have and do study some Buddhist philosophy and technics and it feels plausible when I’m in meditation. I think of it as a energy net that we come from and return to, I can invision this being part of the natural world not requiring an intelligence or creator, this can lead to a feeling as if reincarnation is plausible. It’s what I would like to believe but without better evidence than simply how I feel, I can’t trust it as an actual reality.
Do you follow any particular major league baseball team? If so, which one and why?
ArdentAtheist comments on May 27, 2018:
