AstralSmoke replies on May 25, 2018:
@CrankyAntie I see some validity in what you are saying. But in retrospect, we are teaching our children how to lie and invent things. So, they realize the 'truth' someday. Have we unwittingly corrupted their thinking processes? I have kids, their mom has greater input than I, and I think about this every day.

Such a rare find but when and if you do ever find, hold on and treat them well.

They forgot to include the really important stuff like wash the dishes, clean the bathroom, go grocery shopping, or cook a meal without being asked to......those are my turn ons.
AstralSmoke replies on May 19, 2018:
Those are just chores. Is there such a thing as a romantic chore?

AstralSmoke comments on May 19, 2018:
I've never considered myself the 'romantic' type, but I like to do things for people and sometimes appreciate it when someone does something for me. I really don't want the last piece of cake though.
AstralSmoke replies on May 19, 2018:
@poetdi56 My kind of girl.
Did you make anything for your child's wedding?
LiterateHiker comments on May 19, 2018:
Just finished making the wedding ring pouch. It has a snap closure and lighter maroon lining. The elastic loop on the back will slide onto Cocoa's collar. "No Velcro!" my daughter said. "You, too?" her fiance' Matt replied. "I hate the sound of Velcro ripping!" They shuddered and laughed. Was...

Artist unknown (Olmec, Mesoamerica) mask, 900-300 BCE.
FrayedBear comments on May 19, 2018:
Curious that the mask, because of lack of a forehead to crown curve requires a strap over or around the head if it is worn whilst upright. Therefore is this perhaps a death mask only placed on the horizontal face or does it have provision for attachments at the rear? It is certainly fine stonework ...
AstralSmoke replies on May 19, 2018:
It seems like it might be too heavy (if carved from stone) as well. @skado seems to know his topics fairly well though.

Have you tried it on the dog yet? I think you've done a great job. The wedding sounds like it will be very memorable.
How do we stop separatists?
AstralSmoke comments on May 18, 2018:
Yes! We need to change our political leaders. There is no way they represent the majority of us.
AstralSmoke replies on May 18, 2018:
@girlwithsmiles Me either, but there are some local 'politicians' I back. Unfortunately, none of them won in the last election. I don't give up hope, although it seems hopeless at times.
What do you think?
AstralSmoke comments on May 18, 2018:
How can evidence prove nothing? If there is evidence, even if it's only circumstantial, it at least leads one to some sort of conclusion.

@girlwithsmiles Guess I need to learn to read between the lines better. Thanks.

What's your stance on TNR?
LiterateHiker comments on May 17, 2018:
What does "TNR" mean? I speak English, not Acronym.
AstralSmoke replies on May 17, 2018:
Trap, neuter, release. It's a political step to appease two parties. One loves cats at all costs to other critters, the other doesn't like feral cats roaming the city. I apologize. I hate it when people assume things.
We had a great stamp club meeting last night (May 16).
AstralSmoke comments on May 17, 2018:
Are you a stamp collector?
AstralSmoke replies on May 17, 2018:
@pixiedust I like coins, but I'm not a serious collector. One of my grandfathers collected stamps. When he died he had tons of shoeboxes full of stamps. I think my grandmother sold the collection for $40,000, which I thought was a low price, but I wasn't the one trying to get rid of them.
What's your stance on TNR?
pixiedust comments on May 17, 2018:
We have TNR where I live, but only in managed, community cat colonies. It has helped to significantly reduce the number of feral cats in the city. Community cats are provided with shelter, food and water. Veterinary care is also provided, if necessary and if the cat can be trapped. In return, the...
AstralSmoke replies on May 17, 2018:
@pixiedust I'm glad to hear that. I grew up in the country and we always let our cat out and it too was bringing us gifts. I'm a little more mature now. I love cats and all sorts of animals and have learned that cats should be house cats, not outdoor cats.

@DotLewis Bass wood would have been my second guess. Do you prime to wood first or directly paint it with acrylic paint?

What's your stance on TNR?
Akfishlady comments on May 17, 2018:
You could write this same story about humans. I think we all have a responsibility to take care of nature and to not add to the demise of things but to just label cats as an issue leaves something much more dangerous and disastrous not being held accountable for much worse than feral cats. Humans. ...
AstralSmoke replies on May 17, 2018:
@cyndiann I sort of agree. I just turned two kittens in to the shelter. Haven’t caught the mom yet though. She is feral and had kittens. It only takes two cats and then they multiply exponentially.
What's your stance on TNR?
Robotbuilder comments on May 17, 2018:
It will keep them from reproducing, but those animals will still be wandering around outside, being exposed to danger, and leading miserable lives. Honestly, I have mixed feelings on it. It solves one problem, but it leaves a whole lot of problems unaddressed.
AstralSmoke replies on May 17, 2018:
@cyndiann I agree. They seem as happy as any wild animal around here. I trap them. Take them to a shelter about 10 min away. Then catch the next one. We don’t have a shortage of them.
