AstralSmoke comments on May 4, 2018:
I do now.
So yesterday I saw a post from a member who was thinking of leaving our little world.
AstralSmoke comments on May 4, 2018:
Why do people want to leave? I apologize for all past posts.
What do you do when an event you're at is opened with a prayer or grace?
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
I like looking around at all the other people who are looking around, but I'm quiet.
What do you think about people who say deliberately hurtful things to other people then, when called...
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
I know I don't appreciate it if it's done to me or to someone I respect, so I try to not do it to someone else. Sometimes, I've found it impossible to read the person correctly and have ended up insulting them (not on purpose), so I'm guilting. I just avoided the language.
OK folks, this is where I'm at.
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
Just leave it like that and let some critters enjoy it. Cherry is a pretty dense wood. It'll probably stay there for several years. Grow a flowering vine over it if you don't want to look at it.
Hrmm.
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
I block 'believers' in a heartbeat. Don't have time for that.
Is anyone else seeing the Alert count over the bell icon disappearing on its own, then re-appearing ...
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
@bingst, you're possessed.
Non-believers in Tennessee?
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
I live in Chattanooga. There's also a small band of atheist that meet at The Honest Pint (once a month?).
When does hyperbole become a lie?
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
When Santa Claus becomes real.
A biologist theologian! Is that an oxymoron or a contradiction in terms?
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
I don't think so. A biologist can believe in a omnipotent god. The god is responsible for everything. Biology is just a good way to get a little better understanding of how god works. Works well into current day theology.
Does marketing influence our sense of security?
AstralSmoke comments on May 3, 2018:
Marketing is propoganda. It has you (enough 'yous' to make it monetarily feasible) believe whatever 'it' wants 'you' to believe. One can ignore it so it doesn't affect one directly, but the indirect effects are felt. (This is my simplified version.)
Are you a Stoic? Please read the definition and say what you think? [en.wikipedia.org]
AstralSmoke comments on May 2, 2018:
No
Kid said he felt like being outdoors today.
AstralSmoke comments on May 2, 2018:
Cherry is a great wood. You should make something.
I'm so excited about today's finds! A stick bug,a scorpion and a handful of snails.
AstralSmoke comments on May 2, 2018:
I live in se Tennessee, the stick bugs here are much smaller and a darker brown. I'm glad we don't have scorpions.
All I said in chat was "You're very welcome.
AstralSmoke comments on May 2, 2018:
Just tell them you aren't interested in pursuing that topic. You can block them if they get annoying.
Have you read the 'trinity of freethought'?
AstralSmoke comments on May 2, 2018:
Freethought needs a step-ladder?
Still going.
AstralSmoke comments on May 2, 2018:
Why the bags? Does your city require them?
Can anyone tell me what effect "make private" has on a thread? Just curious.
AstralSmoke comments on May 2, 2018:
It's like deleting it, but since they never delete anything, it's the next best thing?

Inspired by @btroje I've changed my avatar to show another side of me too.
AstralSmoke comments on May 1, 2018:

So, I started a new painting and it seems a tad dark.
AstralSmoke comments on May 1, 2018:
Keep it, Hide it away. In 20 years you will find it and ask yourself, "why did I keep this?" You'll feel wiser than and know what to do.

AstralSmoke comments on May 1, 2018:
I believe I could have survived quit nicely without every seeing that.
If we really are atheists, why is there so much talk in this forum about religion?
AstralSmoke comments on May 1, 2018:
Fantastic question which I use to rail against. I've found it's simply easier to avoid them. There are plenty of other good topics winging around.
I just changed my photo to show a different side of myself

Here's one to balance out the ugliness of the decapitated vole post.
AstralSmoke comments on May 1, 2018:
It looks pretty scared. It's difficult to know sometimes if something is going to hurt you or help you.
Good morning friends. I am taking a day off from the grind. Hope you are all doing well.

AstralSmoke comments on Apr 29, 2018:

What is a human being?
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 29, 2018:
The concept of humanity can transcend our species. Actual humanity cannot.

A lot of motion in a small space! Someone you might enjoy is Daniel Rozin. I encountered his work at the Hunter Museum (Chattanooga) recently and his work immediately popped into mind when I saw yours. Although, I'm sure your processes are completely different.
Ominous cloud bank over my neighborhood.

I didn't know about this group.
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 26, 2018:
Hi, I'm a 7 downer.
Opinions, experience, thoughts wanted.
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 26, 2018:
At age 40 I had hair close to waist length. I started getting a bald spot. Eventually, I told myself it was time for a new style. I'm alone now.
Took my neighbor crabbing yesterday.
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 26, 2018:
I've only been crabbing a couple of times, when I was a kid. We went to small island off the coast of S Carolina. Crabbing was super easy. Tie some meat on a string, throw it in, and wammy, crabs. Preparation was the hard part and my mom took care of that. Time's change.

AstralSmoke comments on Apr 26, 2018:
I'm the mushroom.
I've apparently been blocked by someone based solely on my viewing her profile. lol
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 26, 2018:
Seriously, you prowler! Do they notify you with a bubble and a written notice? I'd be a little sceptical (unless you're a stalker) of 'the system'. They seem to be having some minor issues (annoyances, really), but I'm sure they'll get around to fixing them. Notify admin if you question it.

For food, it shouldn't be allowed. For other organisms that we have destroyed or are in the processing of destroying by being human, why not continue with the process and screw everything up completely.
I see a few members here I am unfamiliar with.
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 24, 2018:
Perhaps you're referring to me. I spent a lot of time on this site the first month. Collected most of the points I have then. I had to get away in order to get things done. I'm back, but not so intense as before. Hope you don't mind. I won't tell anyone I'm an algorithm, promise.

AstralSmoke comments on Apr 24, 2018:
I'm a different kind of bird, I guess. I got most of my points the first month, then left the site (thinking temporarily) to work on something meaningful (at least to me). I'm back after 4 months. The house has changed. I don't see the differences that everyone is talking about. We individual change. I post if it's entertaining. That can be very subjective.

Ever chased rabbits?
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 23, 2018:
Rabbits are very difficult to catch, especially in an open field. White rabbits? I've never seen a loose one. I'll just feed my head.
Plenty of signs..

I disagree. It hurts too much to see someone in pain. Hire some strappy young man that hasn't been injuried yet.

AstralSmoke comments on Apr 23, 2018:
I'm working towards that, but still have a long way to go.
different gender = different sexual preference?
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 23, 2018:
This is a tough one. I've tried imagining switching bodies with other people, but have come to the conclusion if that happened I would be just like them and not know the feelings of the body I came from.
Just an observation.
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 22, 2018:
Out-of-my-mind crazy.

Does our capacity for thinking have an expiration date?
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 19, 2018:
Sure, but everyone has a different limit. I've seen my grandmother and aunt die with alsheimers, my grandfather die with emphasima, my brother die from a heart attack, and my father (sharp as a tac) die because he was ready. We all stop ticking sometime.
We may not know the purpose at the time but it will resinate after the fact.
AstralSmoke comments on Apr 18, 2018:
It sounds a bit like predestination, which I don't but into, but I agree that each person who is a part of our experience is a learning experience.
