They had enough sense to wear masks in China, Singapore, Korea, and Hong Kong early in 2020, and those countries beat Covid-19 pretty quickly. However here in the USA, our "Leading Expert" was a dishonest arrogant little fool who told everyone they did not need to wear masks. Even after the dishonest arrogant little fool openly admitted he lied to the American public on 3/8/2020, a large portion of the country still uses his statements on 3/8/2020 as a justification not to wear masks, or not to "trust the experts".

Got the data from two sources: (1) FBI crime database and (2) Washington Post database of police killings. (I'll add links to the sources in the comment section.) Please let me know if you find a bug. Some observations: First, the percent killed by the police is higher than I would have guessed. Secondly, if you are murdered, you are more likely to be killed by the police if you are white than if you are black. That was a little bit surprising to me. In absolute terms is was 69 people of all races in 2017, or around 0.00002% of population in a given year, or around 1 in 5 million. Up until Chauvin arrived, those two officers had done everything by the book. They were very patient with George Floyd. Then Chauvin showed up and demonstrated his "knee to the neck" technique, which triggered a heart attack. The two junior officers were suggesting that they move George Floyd into a different position, which was overruled by Chauvin. One of the junior officers called an ambulance and escalated the urgency, but by that time, the damage had already been done when Chauvin kept Floyd's head pinned down throughout his heart attack. They have lost their jobs, and now a large portion of the population is calling for their heads. Those two (and George Floyd) were extremely unlucky the backup that showed up was Derek Chauvin.

You are correct. Nothing like taking a single bad cop and then present a grossly biased narrative against police to get people stirred up. Then they can cover the riots that ensue. Good for ratings, more money for the news agencies.

@Sofabeast It sounds like we are 100% in agreement? Culture directs us as to what is normal. In western society the military has been a straight male enclave until recently, and homosexuality is seen as populated by effeminate males. Yet look to Ancient Greece and the Spartans. The toughest, hardest strongest killer military societies humanity has produced and gay/bi. Surely not all Spartan men were gay/bi or is bisexual/pansexual our basic normal? This would imply that the environment in which the Spartans raised their boys led to a higher incidence of gay and bisexual behavior. Don't you agree?

@Sgt_Spanky On the flip-side, I know three tomboys from my hometown who had fathers who were obsessed with sports. Both girls competed and did quite well in sports against little boys, then when they got into high school and competed against girls, they dominated in sports like basketball and softball. Those three turned out to be lesbians. It could have been a similar type of feedback, positive reinforcement for masculine behavior and negative reinforcement for feminine behavior.

@Sgt_Spanky I would guess the mother wanted a daughter, so she dressed her son in girl's clothing. She also likely gave him positive feedback when he acted in feminine ways and negative feedback for masculine behavior.
