They could still cull the geese, but PETA was keeping quiet as long as the meat went to the homeless. So now the city has two problems: more cost to feed the homeless and less resources to do so; and more dangerous flying conditions (remember, that is what brought down the flight in Washington D.C.)

Don't know if it is too late to sue or not. A number of years ago a guy bought a funeral with a horse drawn carriage etc way back when and held on to the policy. He hit his eighties, went to check things out and the funeral home, since it still existed, said they would honor it as best that they could, but certain things would be too expensive. He won the suit. Basic business law.

@Allamanda I'm sure much if what is donated isn't worth using. On the other side, I've seen things changed to make some donations harder to do, especially here in the US for the homeless. Side story: about 12 years ago I was at a Pep Boys and overheard a conversation - an African fellow stopped by and wanted to know if they could donate used tires. The manager said it wasn't legal; then he said something I did not expect. He told the man when the garbage pick up came and said if the tires piled up to be taken disappeared the night before he wouldn't know or say anything about them leaving early. Sad that people have to "break the law" to help others.

@Allamanda There is enough of a need that institutions are actively seeking people. And paying a token shipping fee. The groups have the option to opt out - too badly damaged body, possibly too many in the system at the time, contagion, etc. I think, as an off theory, that with the rise of body "farms" for forensic research (which have long waiting list oddly) may have lessened the bodies available for medical research. Just a thought. There is also the fellow (German maybe) who plasticises bodies - his list is way long.

Here is an irony - both Iran's and Saudi Arabia's governments suck and if you visit either be careful. Now, remember, the Sauds are our friends, but, for many who visit there tourists are not very welcome - especially American infidel military. Now, if you visit Iran, and can avoid the govenment and their secret spies most visitors will be welcomed and shown a good time. And they are our enemies. Most of the "protests" and effigy burnings that occur in Iran happen when government workers are "given" a day off and paid to go protest for the cameras. Personally, I have no desire to visit either nation, not in these times at least. A few decades back I went through Oman and that was not an inviting place.

I never enforced the dress code when teaching. Especially for young women. Hell no. I would, if asked, tell a student if he or she were out of code, but not my damn business. I had more important things to do. Besides, when I worked briefly at a Catholic school, I always let my hair hang just over my collar because I had no official dress code and boys couldn't let their hair touch their collars. There are times when a dress code can be used in a good manner. In some of the inner city schools where there is an abundance of gang activity a dress code can avoid those dangers of colors. A dress code can, also, if the school helps pay for the uniforms or to defray their costs, then the use of uniforms can help keep poorer students from getting involved in peer pressure dressing "wars" This texan code is absolutely asinine. They are probably assholes who will use such a thing to waste county money by insisting that child protective services investigate parents who wont show up because they can not dress properly.
