When I was in the Navy, my boss on the ship to which I was assigned was a huge fan of her voice. I say this because he was pretty darn conservative ("there is the right way, the wrong way, and the Navy way, and we do things the Navy way). Anyway, he would alternate between listening to John Phillips Sousa to Joan Baez. Unlike today's conservatives, he was fair and would think. He was an ex state cop who quit due to corruption. He also supported cops NOT carrying guns. He did scare me once when he said I would make a good cop, if I stopped smoking weed (on my off time).

One thing I am sick of is taxpayers bailing them out. That used to not happen. The federal government changed the rules for stick share owners in the 70s? I think, that forced companies to give out most of their extra money and NOT be allowed to hold money in reserves. That is why Ford did not need a bailout loan during the auto crisis - they are 51% family owned and could survive on the cash reserves (they also sold off a lot of holdings). We give WAY too much the top one percent. Stronger and better protected unions would help. Companies that are employee owned in full or part seem to do better as far as fairness and productivity and happiness of employees.
