Living together would be nice in my mind. It does present some economic advantages. But at our ages, we have lots of stuff, and are often set in our ways. One woman a while back suggested sharing a duplex would be ideal. She was also in favor of a “relationship but no sex.” I said thank you and backed out, but would do the duplex possibly.

I was between jobs and working in my yard when my daughter called and told me to turn on the tv. I saw the second plane hit, and the towers collapse. I was a volunteer fireman and wanted to go up there. Based on the lung issues in those that responded, it’s good for me that I didn’t, but my heart is heavy still because of it.

I don’t see it as a binary choice. Every relationship has ups and downs. There is a spectrum from really abusive ones to really terrific ones and most are in the middle somewhere. The good ones can be imlorived by good communication. I don’t like being lonely, and have occasionally had one night stands or shorter relationships. I don’t regret them. Hurricane Hugo came though Charlotte In 1989. I was in hurricane Florence in Charlotte and hurricane Michael in eastern NC last year. Hugo was the worst for me. We were out of power for 10 days. No major damage from any of them for me though.
