Agreed!!
How far, realistically, would you go for a relationship?
BudFrank comments on Oct 24, 2018:
One hour’s travel for a relationship where we see each other more than once a week. For initial contacts on possible relationships I’d go 100 miles or more. I have the advantage of being retired and living in a travel trailer so I could move closer to my beloved if it gets serious

BudFrank comments on Oct 24, 2018:
I believe a reasonably short hi message is not the equivalent of a wolf whistle. Some of us are not a socially adept as others. I personally do try to connect more than just hi, but I don’t see that as obnoxious. A better word would be a little awkward. Actually I find the comparison to a wolf whistle to be offensive. I would never do that, but I have initiated conversations with short intros.
Hi everyone.

It is not a bad thing to be sensitive. You do have to protect yourself a little better though in this case. I am there myself
Please share stories about unrequited love.
BudFrank comments on Oct 23, 2018:
There was a woman I really liked. We did things together and I thought things were going well, until I said something about us dating. She responded that we weren’t dating we were just hanging out. This kept up for more than a year. New Year’s Eve she invited me over. At mightnight we actually had a kiss. For a couple of weeks things seemed to be moving along. But then she drew away. Finally we had “the talk” that she wasn’t interested and she totally even. Broke off the friendship. No happy ending. That’s been almost a year and a half.
"At 17" by Janis Ian -- this song came on the radio a little earlier and I started to cry.
BudFrank comments on Oct 23, 2018:
I felt that as a guy too. I was the proverbial 97 pound weakling at that age.
What is it about a woman's boobs that men (and some women) find so attractive?
BudFrank comments on Oct 23, 2018:
I had a girlfriend tell me once, “it’s all interconnected internally.” That’s from her perspective. I find the softness of the breast comforting (left over from childhood). The nipple when it’s hard reminds me of the clit, or maybe it’s the clit that reminds me of the nipple. Like I said it’s all connected.
I haven't had sex in so ???
BudFrank comments on Oct 23, 2018:
I’d take that in stride, just like I would do with a fart.
Close your eyes and see from the heart ❤❤❤

Maybe we need to quit putting sociopaths in power
BudFrank comments on Oct 22, 2018:
Politicians are pretty much power hungry by definition. Unfortunate but true.
Thoughts on marriage : There seems to be many in the community who are anti marriage.
BudFrank comments on Oct 22, 2018:
Some people stay in a bad marriage just because it’s so hard to get out and it has a negative connotation. In a non-marriage relationship, people sometimes stay too long, but you stay because you’re committed to the person and not because of a piece of paper. I’ve been married twice: 35 years and nine months. The second one had anger issues and I learned enough from the first to get out more quickly. I don’t plan to marry again, but if the right person comes along I would consider it.
"Finding Yourself" is not really how it works...

Oldest continuous friend is from 10 years ago. Pamela (not Pam, as my ex found out) has been supportive through a difficult divorce. We only met once a few years ago. She’s in Florida and is married.
What are three words you wish you heard when you were younger that you tell yourself now?

What is LOVE?
BudFrank comments on Oct 19, 2018:
Love is complicated. It is a spontaneous feeling. It is also a choice: a choice to spend time with someone else, to prioritize them, to use whatever your love language is ( and what you oercieve theirs is if you think in those terms) to give to them. Sex may come and go, although it tends to bring a couple together. He feelings may always be present. But a choice to make a person your priority can be lifelong.

How to you handle being single in a partnered world?
BudFrank comments on Oct 18, 2018:
I find this difficult too. When I got family reunions or weddings, it’s sad to be the only one of my siblings without a companion. Sometimes I’ve found a friend to take, but it’s often somebody different each time.
Happy humpday

BudFrank comments on Sep 9, 2018:
As a man I have been on a number of first dates where they were interested but I wasn’t. It goes both ways. It may be the law of supply and demand here, in the eyes of the two people. It is probably being more picky. It may also just be different criteria the two have.

[psychologytoday.com] Answers some questions some of us might have asked. Why do men betray?
BudFrank comments on Sep 9, 2018:
I saw and agree with an article I saw somewhere. whenever either side betrays it is because they want to renegotiate the agreement of the relationship. It is not satisfying for some reason and they cannot just talk about it for some reason. Personally I was stuck in a conservative Christian subculture hat wouldn’t even tolerate separation at one time. I betrayed by wife because I couldn’t stand the situation and wanted out. It got the desired result but it was more pain that if I had tackled it directly at first.

Do you ever think it's appropriate for someone to give up on finding true love?
BudFrank comments on Sep 9, 2018:
I know some who have given up. Myself, I keep trying, and sometimes find interest, but I’m somewhat commitment-phobic and wonder if I’ll ever get into a satisfying relationship.

What's the most unusual/unique place you've had a "romantic encounter"?
BudFrank comments on Jul 28, 2018:
I fingered my girlfriend while I was driving and got her off. We regularly had a spot just off a hiking trail in a state park. Also in my conversion van in a grocery store parking lot.
Do sacred sites move you?
BudFrank comments on Jul 7, 2018:
The architecture is often awe-inspiring, whether churches, cathedrals or ruins. I find it sad in churches of any type when people are worshipping, because I feel they’re grasping at straws that I tried in the past but no longer believe in, if I ever did.
Is there a difference between a southern atheist and a northern atheist?
BudFrank comments on Jul 3, 2018:
I have lived in the Bible Belt for most of my life. There are many churches, but also much hypocrisy. I think many southerners who turn against god do so In reaction to that. I don’t know about the northerners
