Not so much for Christmas, But I like to, ahem make that LOVE the Southern traditional New Years meal of collard greens, Hoppin' John and corn bread. And don't forget the pepper vinegar, please. And the seasoning meat has to be neck bones. There is no debate on that for the New Year's dish. Bacon or ham for everyday collards, maybe. And the pot liquor is amazing from that. I grew up in the rust belt near Steubenville, Ohio and sauerkraut and pork was the traditional dish, which I also like, but a Reuben is by far my preferred sauerkraut delivery device.
