Some type of access to transportation is vital to maintaining self support. When I divorced t was not a physical abuse situation, but I had very few assets. I had a broke ass cheap bike that I drove to work for about four years before I got my credit back to a point I could get a car. Actually, someone did me a favor and stole that bike a few months in. Had the ability and motivation to buy a halfway decent bike from an actual bike shop rather than a toy bike from Walmart. Housing and even rent is very expensive. Try to find shared housing where you can just rent a room. Don't go back.

Years back when an ex and I ran our own business, not so successful (see the word ex) I would be the one meeting clients and collecting money, and other multi tasking. Sometimes in distant cities. One thing I would do when there was idle time was to go to a movie theater i the afternoon and just see the next thing playing. I saw Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Amelie this way. Neither of those movies were in my realm of awareness. They both became favorites.

So, it is just me, or is it infuriating when other adults tell your child that they are not old ...

I was without a car for a few years between 2009 and 2014 because of ruined credit because of my ex. This was an emotional toddler with no business with a debit card. I would tell him to his face to not use the ATM for a cash withdrawal because we were pinching it to meet the outstanding bills. Effer would take out $200 and everything would bounce. And you know the banks run the biggest check through so they get that $15 fee on everything. It would be, I'm not kidding $800 in overdraft fees...a month sometimes. And, after the divorce and I was scratching for my life back I hated asking anyone for a ride, so it was only the things I couldn't possibly do...like a trip to the vet or something. . I had a pull behind cart for groceries. There are some places I see a bike useful for recreation for some reasons now, but not many.

So, I have a relative that is a friend on FB, his mom was my cousin.

Are you referring to the politics of the time? Something does seem to happen every day. Try do stay engaged and to things even if it is small. Take a walk around the neighborhood and pick up trash even. Maybe volunteer at an animal shelter. It's harder to feel hopeless if you are creating even the tiniest bit of it.

Also have lived next to a dirt track motor speedway where they did them every weekend during the summer. Cat would sit out on the porch rail and watch. That was an awesome cat. Lived on US Hwy 80 at the time and she would visit the neighbors across the street through a culvert under the street. Way too smart to cross over. And before I am shunned for allowing an animal outside at all, she was not one to be contained. Visiting all the neighbors. She got so fat.
