I lived on the Big Island about 25 years ago & visited all the others except Ni'ihau. My votes go to the Big Island (Hawai'i) & Kauai for nature stuff. & The Island of Hawai'i is the only one with an active volcano too. It's in a national park & generally they let you get pretty close to the hot lava. If you go at night you can see it glow! Kauai is the only island without those nasty mongooses too, so they have more cool birds including colorful feral chickens. We didn't find much to do on Molokai & left early. Lanai'i was a bit better & very peaceful--good for a couple days as it's quite small.

@Pete66 The test results they gave me included those letters but I don't know what they mean. Mediator seems to be one of the names that they assign to the various categories of people. I never heard about this till today so you'd get a way better understanding of it from a quick computer search.

The Greyhound people had some very specific & unaffordable (for us) requirements like a very large yard 6 foot fencing as I recall. All of my dogs were, or are, perfectly happy & safe with what we have.

Despite being a vegetarian & believing in animal rights, I tend to defend people who hunt for their meat. If you think about it, a deer or whatever gets to live a normal, natural life & then is killed, hopefully fairly quickly. Compare that to an animal that has lived in confinement all its life, unable to do most of its natural activities, bored & stressed. Then it's loaded into a truck, possibly by someone who uses a cattle prod to shock it painfully. Surrounded by other terrified animals, it may be trucked a very long way with no food or water. Then the stress & fear of the slaughter house but hopefully a fairly painless death. I'd rather be the deer, wouldn't you? Trophy hunting & just killing for fun--in my mind those people are sick in the head.

@Lukian It's even simpler not to worry about it. Actual cases of B12 deficiency are extremely rare. Once you get to a certain age they test your blood levels no matter what your diet is anyway.

I've been vegetarian about 35 years, had 3 big healthy babies (including a set of twins, each being the size of a normal new born) & nursed them for years. I don't need any supplements & my health is good--very normal blood pressure, pretty low cholesterol, pretty normal weight, normal B12 levels in my blood & no chronic diseases that some other people in their 50s are starting to get. Your argument is rather silly, but it's also erroneous. You'll kill fewer plants by eating them directly rather than processing them through animals first. For instance, my 4 smallish goats eat about a bale of alfalfa a week. The bales weigh about 85 pounds. They also consume several pounds of grain & pellets a week. Now IF I killed them & butchered them today I'd get probably 30 to 40 pounds of meat from each. Maybe the weight of 2 weeks of their feed, but they had to eat that much food EVERY week for a whole year or longer. Most of it turned into poop, not meat! If the land that was used to grow their feed was used to grow food for humans instead, it would feed a lot more people than the 4 little goats' bodies, & a lot fewer plants would be killed. Have you ever heard of fruitarians? They only eat what plants give up willingly, like tree nuts & fruits. I don't know if the consider the seeds of annual plants who have gone through their natural life cycles & died fair game. But I don't think there are many fruitarians...

A lot of it is poor nutritional knowledge including how to read food labels. Potatoes are very cheap & filling & do have a little vitamin C. Cabbage is a cheap nutritious vegetable that keeps well. On the other hand, apples actually don't have a lot of vitamins in them. Oranges are a much better choice.
