I talked to a nice guy here for a month or so, & then he wanted to meet. (He's no longer a member here.) I preferred to get to know him a little better. When we finally met it was a little awkward & we didn't talk much, really. But when I reached up to give him a friendly goodbye kiss on the cheek, the chemistry thing suddenly happened! It was so romantic & amazing! It's been about a month now & I really enjoy his company more each time. One concern of mine is our very different communication styles. Living 3 or 4 hours apart is another, though we'll both be needing to move next year or so. He seemed anxious that we commit now to move in together then, but it felt way to soon for me to make that commitment. I think he's starting to see that taking things in smaller steps would be a good idea & doesn't mean I'm less interested in a long term relationship. I do feel we have potential still & am hoping we can make it work. He's really special. So I guess I'm saying that talking online for a month & having 3 or 4 dates is not enough time to know for sure yes, but I know it would have been enough time to know if it wasn't in the cards.

I noticed a really funny coincidence--I just got off the phone with one of those survey takers. He thanked me for being nice to him & then we had a great little conversation about tobacco politics. An older boy used to threaten me with a knife on the way home from kindergarten. He would tell me not to move & then go away. I stood there, frozen & crying, as all the other kids walked by & went home. When the sidewalk became empty I was even more terrified that he would come back & kill me. Eventually the same older girl would come by & walk me home. A few months ago one of my goats stuck his horn in me & pinned me to the fence. That was also terrifying but much quicker. My ex-to-be came & beat him with a shovel, which he didn't seem to notice at all. I screamed for him to put water on the goat, & he instantly fled. Water is goat napalm. I put him up for sale that day figuring he would be Mexican barbecue, but this particular goat was actually a little famous. Someone on the other coast bought him. He almost made it there, but hung himself in a tree a couple hundred miles away. Karma? RIP Sam.
