I normally don't bother . It's not my job to shake people of their faith . However , if I meet someone ( they came knocking at my door , or stopped me while I'm shopping ) , I generally have more of a grounding in the Bible than they do , and can easily point out concepts that they brought up , that are inconsistent in the Bible .

Our first night home , from our two day Honeymoon , after work , I cooked dinner , and was washing the dishes , afterwards . He came in and picked up a tea towel . I thought he was going to dry the dishes ,and was so pleased . Instead , standing behind my back , he knotted the end corner of the towel and snapped it against my butt cheek , then ran out the back door . It hurt ! I started to give chase , but changed my mind . I thought of locking him out - he hadn't taken his keys with him . I thought about kicking him in his balls . He deserved that .. Instead , I went back to washing the dishes . When he came back , and came to see what my attitude was , I told him , calmly . that that was the first , last , and only time he was ever going to hit me , because I didn't put up with that crap . " Oh , it was just a joke ," he said . I told him it I was washing dishes , I hadn't done anything wrong , and there was absolutely NO reason for him to hurt me , and that was the very last time . It would never happen again . And it didn't . For the most part , he wasn't a bad person . Unfortunately , his mother was an asshat , and many of the problems that followed , were her ideas . So eventually , I gave him back to her . She gave his second wife even more problems , than she gave me . And then she died . Unfortunately ,after destroying the relationship I had with my children , due to the lies she created .

Neither obesity nor anorexia are healthy , but the culture we live in , seems to push both . Took in a friend , who was going through a divorce . Apparently she didn't eat . Met a friend of a neighbor , recently , who eats one meal a day . I'm diabetic , with a kidney problem . and try to stear clear of both sugar and salt . which isn't easy . Advertisers , not only want to sell more frequent meals , but larger ones as well . I remember when a standard drink was 8 ounces . Today , the ," small ," size drink is 16 oz , double whar was normal , and the large drink is 32 oz , a whopping four times the previous standard drink size . Not only are the sugary drinks bad for you , but the sugar free . diet drinks are making you fat as well . Basically , it's next to impossible to maintain a healthy diet , even if you're working out in the gym routinely .

As my girls were grewing up , I invested in real estate as a second form of investing/income , so I'd be able to put them through collage . I learned what they now refer to flipping , was better than holding rentals , at least until my joints gave out on me . I'm retied now . I've met quite a few people , had one whom I consider the love of my life . Took me ten years to get past that one . I think it would have been nice to have had more love in my life , but most certainly is not a necessity . It's more important that I love the me , I chose to be . If someone else fits into the me I chose to be ,that's just gravey on the mashed potatoes , or icing on the cake .

Some of us were brain washed from a very young age . While I'm sure a great many people do recognize religions are inconsistent and illogical , if they choose to consider it as an adult , many don't revisit the things they were taught , and others simply figure it's a lot easier to go along , to get along . For many , their religion , is a large part of their social life . Some seem to feel , as adults , you can either sit in a bar with a lot of smokers and alcoholics , and possibly drug addicts , or you can attend church functions , some of which actually include good works , they can feel proud of - building hospitals , holding soup kitchens , providing spaces for AA , building homes for the homeless , providing schools , etc.

I think , it would be cheaper to simply replace the entire zipper , with a metal one . It would also make sense not to buy the Columbian jackets , again . If it's just the pull and not the slider , you may want to consider replacing that with a safety pin . Another possibility , would be to simply reverse the jacket in it's entirety , before you put it in your washer , so that the pull doesn't get caught by the holes in the tub of the dryer .

They've switched from using ground water , to using surface water here . They now use a different chemical to treat it . While taking a shower on June 7th , the new chemicals caused me to break out with a strange rash , very similar to a poison ivy rash - first itchy . then blisters , red and swolen and it was all over me . This is mid October and I still have the remains of that rash on my leg . So no , I can't drink tap water , here . I can't even bath in the stuff .

I've met two women here in the US , who had arranged marriages , and both were very pleased with the choices their parents had made for them . I've met many women ( including here on Agnostic.com ) , who are divorced . While I'm not trying to say that arranged marriages are good , or that choices we make for ourselves are bad , sometimes , I think , parents may have more insight into who a person really is , than those of us struck by a chemical reaction . I would think it would depend , at least in part , on who is doing the selecting , and what instructions were given to each partner in the marriage . I think part of the reason for so many failures in American marriages , has to do with what we are taught about marriages . As pointed out in a post I was watching here earlier today , young girls are given a baby doll , and taught to care for it while toddlers . We're given mini kitchens and taught to play cooking , etc. , at very young ages . Boys are given balls and taught to play - baseball , soccor , basket ball , football , tennis , bowling , and grow up thinking if they have a job , they've done enough , and by the way , women are all gold diggers and are only after the money they earn , so they desrve to be treated like kings , in spite of the fact that the vast of women also hold jobs and contribute to the money coming in . Very bad attitude problems . And it isn't working .

For instance , I came home from my 40 hour a week job , cooked dinner , washed the dishes , and took care of the kids every night . My husband came home from his Post Office job , sat on the sofa , watching TV every night , until we left to go to his Mommy's house . So one evening , as I'm washing dishes , he comes into the kitchen and says to me , " You call this housekeeping ? " I suggested , since my hands were in dishwater , that he sit at the table and make a list of all the chores he does , then I'd tell him the things I did and he could write those down as well . Revelation to both of us . In the eight years we'd been married , he'd done very little , and I had an immense load of chores . He compared my housekeeping to that of his full time , stay at home Mommy , who'd never had a job in her life , and yet , he came to me just after I gave birth to our daughter claiming I needed to return to work immediately because he couldn't support me , a question I believe was from his Mommy . I asked him how much money we had in the bank - his reply , he didn't know . I asked him when was the last time he had seen our bank statement , again he didn't know . I showed him my check stub , and pointed out that the only job his Mommy would ever qualify for was that of a housekeeper . Sometimes , no matter how hard you work to please someone , all you get are rude , pointless , stupid comments . None of this made either of us feel good about , ourselves . It most certainly did nothing to improve the sex . But it also did not change anything . His choice was to maintain the status quo . In hind sight , it was the beginning of the end . SO I recommend to you , that you examine how you trat your wife on a daily basis . Do you dump all of the house hold chores on her , on top a full time job ? Do you dump all of the child care requirements on her , while pretending you're kind of the house and sit around doing nothing ? If she's exhausted from eight hours of paid work then another four to six hours of house hold chores daily , she's too exhausted and depressed to be enthuastic about your sex life .
