She is lovely. It's sad that our society sets women up to be so critical of their bodies. It's rare that I meet a woman who just doesn't care whether her body conforms to some mythical standard set by advertising companies using women's bodies as a selling point.

The hormone testosterone correlates positively with domination and aggression, and at puberty boys ...
Cyklone comments on May 15, 2020:
Girls have plenty of testosterone, no where as much as boys, as well as oestrogen and boys have both testosterone and some oestrogen. And whereas testosterone may be associated with aggression, it doesn't follow that the lack of it or the way in which it works with different levels of oestrogen leads to submission or assertiveness. What is evident is that the presence of BOTH hormones are necessary for "horniness" in both males and females

An interesting overview of all the angles ... Why Do Men Pay for Sex?
Cyklone comments on May 15, 2020:
Married couples pay for sex to experiment. Woman pay for sex to explore or be pampered. Disabled people pay for sex often just for the contact. People seek many different things from sex workers. The idea that it is illegal is obscene and perhaps just another way in which men/religion legislate control over women's bodies.

I've wondered if it's actually your vaunted Bill of Rights which is part of the problem. It seems to encourage selfishness and miss the idea that rights for the individual will frequently conflict with rights for the community ( your 2nd amendment being a classic case in point). Perhaps you should replace it with a Bill of Responsibilities and Rights.

I'm only a male, but if I'm allowed to have an opinion, I'd say that becoming pregnant doesn't necessarily make you a mother. Many things can upset the journey from conception to birth. I'm not even sure giving birth makes one a mother as I've known a few not worthy of the name. I do think that nurturing and rearing a child makes one a mother, whether it was her that gave birth or not, but I wouldn't say that's the only condition. Perhaps women make themselves eligible to be called mothers by willingly sacrificing so much for a child. So, my answer Wallace: women make themselves mothers.

Morals.
Cyklone comments on May 10, 2020:
I think your post is very confused. A moral code is nothing more than a set of rules or principles you choose to live by and there are many different moral codes from, do as you would be done by, to, do unto them before they do unto you, and another particularly useless set of 10 rules that a 6 yo could have crafted better. "Morals"as a separate noun seem to be something other people tend to define as a way to judge someone else. I think if you examined your behaviour carefully you'd see your moral code even if you weren't aware of it. Perhaps it's, I'm number one, or, be nice when it doesn't cost you anything, but I suspect it's not quite that dispassionate. It's not too difficult for example to see trump's moral code. "Only I matter" perhaps?

Which is more important for life: Safety or risk?
Cyklone comments on May 8, 2020:
I think you need to be a bit more specific as everything in life involves risk, even eating because you can choke. And the kitchen is said to be one of the most dangerous places we can be in. Vehicle insurance companies will tell you that parking lots are the riskiest place. So what risk, how much risk, what type of risk? Just driving is a huge risk. People who don't want to take risks shouldn't get out of bed. Most of us know that starting a relationship is one of the biggest risks. Personally I'd say, no risk equals no life.
Why is it that everyone believes that wearing a mask is important?
Cyklone comments on May 8, 2020:
Yes, I've noticed non-americans haven't said a lot on here about it, myself, because it seems so big an issue to you lot, but facemasks are not a thing in aussie as the authorities have been saying that you should wear one if you have a virus to stop others getting it, but if you don't have the virus then facemasks won't help. That dynamic changes if you are working closely with people who might have it and then you need a good closely fitted one. Although they have shown there is infection via droplet formation in the air, I believe research has shown negligible risk in normal circumstances.
Do you want a lift or not?

Saddling kids with troublesome names just because their parents like it.
Cyklone comments on May 8, 2020:
I remember my mother telling me, before you name a child try standing on the back step and yelling it at the top of your lungs about 20 times. This name wouldn't stand that test but I suppose this lot will just have a locator chip buried in the poor little bugger. He'll have to be home schooled though as I imagine other kids will give him hell.

I used to think that communication was was the key until I realized comprehension is.
Cyklone comments on May 8, 2020:
Communication implies comprehension, but it is easy enough to think the other person understands you when they don't. I've found this a frequent problem when talking to other so called english speaking peoples, eg americans and poms. They or I might understand the words, but the other pragmatics of speech such as emphasis and pronunciation can cause confusion. Eg you think they are asking a question when they may be making a statement. Written language is much less confusing.

Cyklone comments on May 6, 2020:
I think a good partner supports you in you solving your issues, so her comment is dismissive and fails to recognise your strengths and responsibilities. Good on you that you do see this. White knights tend to rescue you and then try to keep you submissive and controlled, so the obverse side to a white knight is often an abuser. Having said that, sometimes you should avoid relationships but if you wait until life is smooth before having a relationship you might be waiting a long time. Just ensure that you get a partner, not a rescuer.

Dehumanisation of Men
Cyklone comments on May 5, 2020:
Evidence of men dehumanising women is overwhelming eg playboy, hustler, porn, strip shows, using women's bodies to promote sales etc. I think there is much wrong with the radical feminist movement eg stereotyping, saying all men are rapists etc. Two wrongs don't make a right and this stuff is dehumanising but mate, this is definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle black. I don't disagree that this process is used against us though and the areas I see it occuring are in denying child access etc

Cyklone comments on May 2, 2020:
I get your point about the people helping out with the virus and the "covidiots" and I agree. However the other subject re: courage, I'd have said that courage was in doing something despite being scared shitless. For some people that is running in under fire to collect a mate and for others it is in picking up a spider. It is never in getting paid millions for kicking a football or going into a ring against another boxer. That might make you a warrior but it doesn't make you brave.

Cyklone comments on May 2, 2020:
Although test conditions can affect it, it's not subjective and it doesn't change much over a lifespan but when psychologists measure IQ it is normally to detect deficits after things like stroke or car accident and then they measure many different areas of brain function. General IQ breaks down to two areas, verbal IQ and performance IQ but there are other ways of conceptualising it. Other than for diagnosis of brain injury, the only thing it is really useful for is predicting academic performance, NOT life success. The highest IQ that can be measured is around 150. That doesn't mean there aren't higher, that's just the highest we can measure because of statistical limitations. If anyone says they are measured higher than 150 they are lying and if anyone goes out of their way to tell you their IQ they are probably a wanker.
