Fear? What do you do when you feel "that" person may be approaching you to make fun of you? This used to be my feeling when in my early 20s. )(no without reason). I never trusted the person was honestly attracted. When I met the guy who became my husband...it took about six months before I accepted to go out with him for the firdt time..

A person is born -or not- intelligent. Book learning is acquired.....but intelligence is necessary to acquire knowledge. Get a person with an IQ of 40 and he / she won't to be able to understand a grammar school book. No, intelligence and book-learning are not the same and those who negate this truth need a shrink.

No, is not. I never wanted kids (I don't have kids) and I knew this since I was a preteen. BTW, I has been brandised with every name you can imagine...from savage to bad woman. A friend asked what I would do if my hubby wanted kids....and I told her that a man who wanted to be a father would never be my husband.

I just found out my husband gave a church over $1,700.

I changed schools in the middle of my last HS year...and I went through h..l the first three weeks, Two male students...and one female...decided to call me ugly, four eyes, insignificant...until the day one of those boys said to me "You are the school's ugliest girl." I grabbed the textbook on my desk and I smacked it on his face....IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE CLASS. I was never insulted again.

IMHO, the courts gives the kids to the mother for something that is known as "tradition". I don't doubt in the past the courts wanted the man to be free to date / marry again....while the same system saw the women as individuals who shouldn't think about a second chance in life....and having to take care of the kids was a great way to reduce said chance to a minimum. No wonder Kramer vs. Kramer was so successful.

Learning never stops....unless your brain only repeats what others tell you and you don't analyze the info. received. Attending conferences, taking those classes you never had the time for while working. Discussing and reasoning every bit of info, that falls on your hands. My students knew they have to come to class with answers that were discussed among themselves several times over.

Why should you be "less intolerant"? As long as you don't create a mess (I do) when they try to talk you into religion you should be as intolerant as you feel. Two things: When faced with this question I wish the English language had the "Te quiero" (relative / friend) and the "Te amo" ( I love you) as Spanish does. I shut off the lights in the rooms when I am not in that area, I set the TV timer to 45 mins. instead of 90 mins., I recycle all my water bottles... The dollar stores come handy to get all those things that costs you three times more at the regular stores: Windshield fluid, engine oil, brand name hair / shampoo / conditioner, every day dishes and coffee mugs, brand name laundry detergent / softener...and a lot more.

It was always difficult for me to make friends....in particular because my Atheism....but since the arrival of Internet and years later my retirement... it have been even more complicated. So, I force myself to do things that will take me away from the puter....like going to the comm. center to read and to knit with the old believers (lol) and to join a book club (local library). Next step will be re-taking the learning of languages.
