A good diet can go a long way to helping with a positive outlook. Definitely eating fruit or anything that contains a lot of liquid will help with hydration even if you forget to drink enough water every day. I sometimes get reminded to drink when I feel a headache coming on.

To me the most valuable notion in your post is ".. everyone seems to be back to their good selves." An important strategy in my recovery is understanding that emotions and situations are transient, That phases of feeling and physical state of being come and go. Remembering that nothing lasts forever can, at the right time, be a motivator to get through a tough period ( sans self medicating w/ drugs and alcohol ). Good luck with your search for a doctor.
