Not being flippant in any way.... with depression.. I literally imagine bootstraps.. and I literally imagine myself pulling myself up by them. 3rd eye stuff. Visualization and metaphor work for me. I have less success keeping anxiety at bay for long periods of time. I can ruminate if I let myself go. But getting better. :) The bigger question for me to answer is.. why when I am busy and productive.. like you describe. In my case it's partially a sabotage behaviour. To a degree.. fear of success. (Hah! could talk about that all day.) Wishing you a quality mental health day as well, brother.
