Mad at god or don't believe?

Channels dropped My tv service provider seems to be fighting with CBS.
DenoPenno comments on Jul 25, 2019:
I get 35 channels form St. Louis, Mo. with this antenna that I built myself after long experimentation. It's about 3 feet long and weighs a lb. and gets the major networks. Old antenna parts and aluminum from Lowe's got me going. This is a yagi antenna and it has 4 pick up elements as big as a man's thumb. You can see them in the middle of my design. I've mounted it over 30 feet high and on my tower. Setup is done by website and a compass just like a satellite dish. This is for over the air channels only.

What does it mean when men say they are god-fearing men?
DenoPenno comments on Jul 25, 2019:
It's an old term but "god fearing" means you are a believer and you know god could do bad things to you. Anyone remember the old Merle Haggard song where he sings "momma used to pray my crops would fail?" This is the religious momma praying for her god not to let this son who has strayed prosper in any way. This is Christians for you. Myself, I just pass off the saying by asking "why are so many people afraid of god?" My stepdad used to say I was "going to split hell wide open." I thought Jesus did that.

I still pay Spectrum $110 a month because of a landline and high speed broadband. Investigate the Internet TV choices for your cable needs and you can might get streaming TV for $30 or so. I agree with your every word here. I was banned from the FB version of Atheist Experience for using the word "lame." I use a desktop computer and apparently did not respond to their objections quickly enough so they banned me. You cannot argue with their decisions anyway. Apparently "lame" refers to those who cannot walk and we all know it is not their fault that they cannot walk. "Lame" is used in the KJV bible when Jesus healed a lame man. Personally, I have never known a lame man or any person who has "went lame." Maybe your horse might "go lame" but in my lifetime I've not heard this used when speaking of a person. Then I post saying some idea is "lame." Does that mean the idea is crippled and cannot walk? Only when you are scared shitless of trying to offend some handicapped person and the offense is in one biblical translation only. The entire ruling is rather lame.
Why I left christianity video
DenoPenno comments on Jul 23, 2019:
OK, so he left Christianity and went for some other religions trying to explain them as he goes along. He has traded one "ism" for another and appears to have some strong desire to worship something. Why? Look at his other titles that come up after this video plays.. When I left Christianity I was no longer "hungry." I am rightfully done with all of it. I have studied too much of it.
I feel guilty.

America is an Idea (and It's the Right That Hates It)
DenoPenno comments on Jul 22, 2019:
What the right hates is democracy. They think they are supporting the original ideas of the Republic. This is why you hear them say they "don't want to see your tax dollars go for healthcare." In fact, under the Republic only land owners voted and most of them had slaves who were not white. Is this racism and white supremacy? No, not to the right. They gerrymander and make excuses for original American ideas. This is so people of color cannot be equal and to the right they never will be.

DenoPenno comments on Jul 22, 2019:
I have a great deal of mindfulness. I think it comes from my desire to know everything and the realization that such knowing is impossible. Over the weekend I rebuilt a swivel chair mechanism and a door lock mechanism and I'm very happy with this. I did them both before but found out this time how to do it better. In truth the swivel chair should be thrown away and I could have spent $15 to do the door lock mechanism. Doing it "my way" I learn more things and also save money.

I have a question for the people that are 100% certain that no gods exist. How are you THAT certain?
DenoPenno comments on Jul 22, 2019:
Could some sort of "gods" exist? If the answer to that question is ever "yes" we will certainly find that such beings have nothing to do with any of our "holy books" as well as find that the beings did not want to have any interaction with us. This negates the entire question to ideas coming out of our "holy books" coupled up with wanting to know where we came from. In a lame way that makes it a legitimate question but I see no way that it has a positive answer. It is human nature to want to know things. Religion falls into the category of experience where others just keep making it up.
Did you believe in ghosts ?

The biggest hoax that islam produces is Qur'anic science and for Christianity,it will be ...
DenoPenno comments on Jul 21, 2019:
Yes, but Qur'anic science is a fact long after the fact. This makes it totally unreal. My example is that black holes are the "vacuum cleaners of the universe." This is a modern concept that nobody would have thought of before vacuum cleaners were invented. Prior to 1860 I'm not sure what Islam would have viewed black holes as, or if they were aware of them at all. Creationism is simply an "ism." Today believers want to say "creation science" and try to get this taught in public school classrooms. The problem is that there is no science in creation. It's an apples and oranges issue.
When did I start to hate summer?
DenoPenno comments on Jul 21, 2019:
I could live in a "forever September" setting but I do like summer. Even if I stay inside I like summer. My AC is set on 77 and I have ceiling fans and sit around naked. It's OK. Nobody can see in but I can see out. If someone comes to the door I slip on a robe. If you wanna be 60 degrees now and then switch to almost 90 in th winter you are only making yourself sick. Temps at 60 degrees would freeze me to death.

I use the word "god" because everyone else does. It is an expression that has nothing to do with a creator. I have not and never will use "dog" to replace it with, as many people do. I don't see the point. Use of the word "god" is similar to use of the words "shit" and "hell." If I say "Jesus Christ" it also has no religious implications unless it is a religious discussion.
A world without religion?
DenoPenno comments on Jul 21, 2019:
I think if we had a world without religion some idiots would come along and invent one. A short time later one or two people from the first group would start a second group. After this went on for a while we would have what we have today. Maybe different names but the same old thing. People are sincere but bizarre. In my early church daze we had a man who left the church because they would not agree with him that he had died and was brought back to life through prayer. The church agreed with the prayer part, just not the resurrection.

"Send her back" who in the first place gave Trump all that powers?
DenoPenno comments on Jul 20, 2019:
"Send them back" is an old white supremacist chant that those of "pure blood" came up with back in Hitlers days and it was used at rallies before a "final solution" was arrived at. People fail to mention this and I wonder why. It shows exactly what we are dealing with and was a dog whistle to Trump's base. BTW, Trump does not have all this power. He wants us to think he does and he will keep on trying until one day he has all the power. This is exactly why he must be stopped now.
And people think republicans are not racist
DenoPenno comments on Jul 20, 2019:
I see this fully. It also came to my attention on conservative talk radio that they said Trump could not be racist "because he praised the Mexicans for now having 21,000 of their own troops to help stop our border crossings." If it is true it means they are doing what he had demanded. How can you take Trump's remark on this as proof he is not racist? It's just another apples and oranges remark.

My flying dreams were mostly while I was a younger man, but anything is possible. I often find that it is a means of travel and the past is also available to travel. Some things can be learned but not like films or novels portray them. Mostly my dreams today express some anxiety that may have been present as I went to sleep. Since the mind is not fully asleep I find that outside influences like storm or rain may become part of the dream experience and add to the dream setting. By all means write down the dream experience in the first 15 minutes of it will be lost forever.

All I know is that socialist ideas are one thing and a socialist government is yet another. Social security is OK and so is socialized medical care. Hard core conservatives fight it and the base reason is money. They claim it takes too much money while their basic plan is to continue making money in the current system. We have always had these ideas and put some of them to work for our betterment. Programs becoming the law of the land is OK. When these same programs govern the people it all goes rotten. This seems to be something that conservatives never catch on to. They cannot distinguish the difference.

The man is not into politics and not super bright but our split came when he told me in all sincerity that "Trump has done more for us in a short time than all the presidents before him." I exploded on him and the Trumper made this remark long before Trump himself said it at the NATO meeting where he was laughed at. Later Fox and other media played the video and cut out the laughter. That is when you start confliction. Simply cause everyone to become conflicted. The result is that you have many different people believing many different things. If you sell your bill of goods properly some will always buy your product and may even be willing to fight others along the way. I'm not just talking car sales here or Facebook showing you pages you have recently viewed on the Internet. Let's take it deeper. America is divided and conflicted. This happened to us because others wanted our money and also our support. The "products" being created are different models of how they think we would want our world to be. It made money, got some people killed, and also got people like Donald Trump elected. The left is as guilty as the right and once Trump is in power nobody knows exactly what to do any longer. The American Dream is dead. You might work 2 or more jobs and still think it is alive and well, but you are being taken in by both sides. Your conflict might be that you will not admit this. It has to be happening because of non-white and not entitled people. You might see that Donald Trump is not exactly right on things but he is close enough for you. You don't want to miss out. You want to make sure that "you get yours" and that it is not stolen by some unworthy group or person. At the moment this is the state of America's new great civil war. The powers that be are not very civil. A wrong move here could bring this into a real warfare.
This post is about the funeral service.
DenoPenno comments on Jul 18, 2019:
Yes, it is creepy but it sounds like your family got through one of the hardest times in life and did it all very well. Condolences on the loss of your mother. I'm also seeing something here that your post shows very plainly. Believers and non-believers can have good relationships even when they are married. I think you must have a remarkable family.
There's this guy in my class (I go to a tech school) who I befriended.
DenoPenno comments on Jul 17, 2019:
He wants to make you dance the Christian jig. He would love to see you praying and blurt out "Oh, Jebus, I am so sorry."
I wonder what would happen if Twitter banned Trump from posting tweets.
DenoPenno comments on Jul 17, 2019:
If this ever happened I might consider a Twitter account. I resent that the news media is a non-stop bombardment on everything Trump. I don't give a rat's ass about Trump in any way except that he is the poorest POTUS in our entire history.

Your "Joe and Mary" story does not hold water. Let me tell you why. During that time frame there were many that were said to be "god men" and "saviors." They were all born of virgins.
What is it that makes holy water holy.
DenoPenno comments on Jul 17, 2019:
Holy water is holy because the holy person says holy water is holy. You can also anoint a sick person with olive oil and pray for them. If this does not work do dinner.
I am not an atheist.
DenoPenno comments on Jul 17, 2019:
I'm an agnostic atheist. This is because if I tell you with 100 percent certainty that there are no gods it is up to me to produce the evidence. I have none, but you can call yourself whatever you like.
Are you voting?
DenoPenno comments on Jul 17, 2019:
Yes, I am voting. There are more drastic measures that you can take but voting seems to be the one with the best personal outcome.
US House to vote on resolution condemning Trump's racist tweets | USA News | Al Jazeera
DenoPenno comments on Jul 15, 2019:
Do we need to have a resolution condemning Trump's racist tweets? This is a "common decency" question but today nobody has any common decency.

This is from a group pic 2 years ago at my youngest daughter's place. We went there for a dinner.

Again at my daughter's place. The Sangria drink is a non-alcohol beverage from Mexico. I get them at Save A lot or Dollar Tree.
