DenoPenno comments on Apr 14, 2019:
Correct. Recently in other social media a believer told me I am "in denial." This was his take on my replies to the entire god question. His god is the biblical god that he thinks I am in denial of. He doesn't say much more when I ask him to show me proof of what he thinks I am in denial of. Faith blinds people and it means very little. In a religious sense faith and hope are pretty much the same thing.
What about segregated by design where you live?
DenoPenno comments on Apr 14, 2019:
Very interesting video. As a young pre-teen I lived in St. Louis on 11th and 13th Streets not so far from the AB brewery. We rode streetcars to get to Cherokee and other areas for shopping. I believe Ferguson was one of these also, but it was further and always about 50/50 racially. As for the whole segregation issue I once heard a preacher say that god intended for the races to be separated. That's why blacks were in far off areas like Africa. Apparently both her and her god were too stupid to know that mankind would invent boats and airplanes.

Nobody in America really cares about this. At least not in the "Jim Bob" areas. What they know is that it's foreign and Muslim and that makes it bad. Very seldom do women in Jim Bob land even wear hats because they think this is rather odd. What they miss is that Paul went to great lengths in the bible to explain why and how a woman should keep her head covered and what it meant. Today Jim Bob and all the rest of us live in Trumpland. I believe that women can and should wear whatever they want to.

They cherry pick their book and take what they want out of it, then use apologetics to explain something else away. Jesus wasn't going to change "one jot or tittle" of any of it but that was before we had the Internet and could easily find the contradictions. Imagine that you could believe the entire world came from just 2 people, then one of your sons went off into another land to find his wife. Kinda funny, huh? As for the 2 men in Dallas who beat up the transexual, possibly they came from Adam and Steve. At best they are nothing but misinformed egotistical turds!
A few of the many patents on cannabis
DenoPenno comments on Apr 14, 2019:
This is exactly why you should invest in cannabis today. it is going as medicimal in so many areas all over the world. People want it in drinks and oils. I've heard theists make claims for it also and they swear it has nothing to do with getting you high. I discovered over $1000 that I didn't know I had and I invested in ACB in Canada. Some of these companies do business all over the world and they are constantly growing. I know nothing of stocks and have vowed to leave my investment right where it is. Who knows? DenoPenno comments on Apr 13, 2019:
This is about as idiotic as the way things were when I was in the military. It was believed that a gay man would be easily compromised if captured because the enemy would promise to give him what he wanted in exchange for information. OK. Wouldn't this work the same way if we promised to give a straight man a woman? The jury in the case of this gay man is very ignorant!

I'm not sure what "god's healing hands" has to do with this tragedy. What I am sure of is that when I was the age of these children we were told not to touch or pick up the gun or we would get skinned alive and get our asses beat off. We believed them. Today parents give "time out" or claim they have had adult talks with their children. Neither parent nor child understand this. Almost every day I see a parent and child come into my workplace and the child is a runaway hurricane! The parents just seem to ignore this.

How (and Why) Americans Were Taught to Hate Atheists
DenoPenno comments on Apr 13, 2019:
Nice post. I'm old enough to remember Ike and all that went on in the 1950's. I was young but knew the politics behind this later on because I study those things. Obviously America was "godly" while the communists were the opposite, and the "commies" were the bad guys. Everybody knew that you had to have good and bad guys. The bible had this and it just made sense. Theists to this day believe in some divine purpose that you have in your life. This makes you special and sets you aside from everyone else. Of course you are a white Evangelical. Trump and his friends still live in 1950 and this is one of the main problems. The cure is right around the corner. It's almost time for a lot of these bastards to die off. As white Americans lose power it will be interesting to see "the Amerigod" die a timely death.

I hope so as well. Such legislation comes about when you have religion in your politics and all it does is make criminals out of normal people. DenoPenno comments on Apr 12, 2019:
I'm pro abortion in the sense of being pro choice but not in the make believe sense. What I mean here is this. Abortion is not birth control and nobody is allowing a child to be born while a doctor and mother decide whether or not to kill it. Just not happening. This is all talking points of the right. Women should have control of their own bodies. Am I in favor of the death penalty? Let's put it this way. If the person really did the crime in which it was decided to put them to death and the evidence is plain and outstanding, it would be safe to say that this killer is not going to kill again if they forfeit their life. Why should we house and feed them forever? You cannot rehabilitate people who commit murder.

Among other things, how many billions do we have to spend at our border with Mexico in order to catch, separate, and imprison everybody? At some point we will run out of money long before the border runs out of people. This madness increases as Trump supporters have been overheard to say that we should be there at the border mowing them down with machine guns as they cross and just let their bodies lay there. I have actually heard that a few times. Have we all become insane?

This is so very true. What Trump has done is silently give support to the crazies and racists both in and out of government. This is why KKK and Nazis want to run for office more and more, white supremacists become more vocal, so called average people call up to report black people swimming, bar-b-queing, or loitering in their own hotel, etc. These are the things we have to fix because we are seeing the enemy and the enemy is us! I know this because I studied Bluebook and read all about it. The TV program is a sci fi drama. Back to Jesus, I find it totally amazing that people would assume he had this remarkable interview with Pilot. Assuming Jesus really did exist we have no proof that the two men would have spoken the same language or would have known the language of the other. This is in the scripture because of the supposed importance of Jesus. In reality Pilot would never have cared to talk with anyone sent to the stake that so many now call a cross. Keep in mind that scriptures as we know them today came to us some 300 years after Jesus. The early church was Catholic and there was some importance in "The Sign of the Cross." There was a movie about this. After all, how would one make the sign of the stake?

Trump Wrongly Blames Obama For Family Separations - YouTube
DenoPenno comments on Apr 10, 2019:
Once again Trump wrongly blames Obama and shows you he is openly lying before he shuts his mouth. The problem here is that his supporters will believe him without even reflecting on whether we had this border problem before Trump was elected. Trump wants to spend billions at the border to contain everyone and as the cost grows so does his frustration. Currently we do not have facilities for everyone. As the cost soars out of sight maybe we could annex some more land to help us with this monumental task.

I think that statement is as valid today as it ever was. The danger becomes worse when Trump confuses the word "oranges" with the word "origins." He then tells everyone that his father was born in Germany. Evidence shows that Fred Trump was born in NYC. Both incidents were shown on TV and then Trump apologists say "I think he meant to say his grandfather was born in Germany." This is scary! It doesn't matter what Trump meant to say. He isn't fit for office.
Trump told border patrol agents to defy law, block migrants: CNN [thehill.com]
DenoPenno comments on Apr 9, 2019:
The total stupidity of Trump's border policy can be seen easily. People cheer him for doing away with the "catch and release" agenda and claim he is doing the right thing. People keep crossing our border and idiots ask in wonder "who is sending them?" Do they have to be sent? Maybe they do have bad conditions at home and want asylum. Trump doesn't want that and has created his own border crisis. The cost is now going into a billion bucks and we can thank Trump and Stephen Miller for the continued escalation. The concentration camp at our border with Mexico is a growing situation that will continue unless the USA runs out of money first. Trump's ideas of asking Mexico to help and keep detainees or asylum seekers is not working and has been struck down in our courts. Blaming and firing officials at the front of our operations like DHS is not working and could never work in the first place. People have always crossed our borders. This will only stop when Trump stops or when we run out of funding. Catch and release is pretty easy to understand. Trump is going down a rabbit hole.

DenoPenno comments on Apr 8, 2019:
I agree. What I see that Trump has done so far is to lie constantly. His border wall idea did not seem serious during his first 2 years and he could have pursued it while the GOP had full power. He did not do so and he blamed the Democrats. To this day there are lies about that wall and his supporters do not seem to understand that the wall currently being "built" is a replace/repair effort that has little to do with a wall over the entire border. The current effort covers about 57 miles and politicians on both sides agreed on a 700 mile border wall. For the record this is NOT Trump's border wall. To make it seem that he is doing something Trump has manufactured a "border crisis" and abandoned catch and release policies. The expense of catching and holding people who cross illegally is astounding. Did he actually think we could catch and hold everyone? This is a sham. There is not enough manpower or buildings for that job. Separation of parents and children have also created another nightmare. Some parents may never see their children again and we know someone is getting these children. This entire fiasco is a billion dollar shame! Maybe even more than that. Beyond the above I see a man who's ego has to have support rallies constantly. Trump openly berates dead patriots and war heroes while wanting you to stroke his ego. Is there any president in our past who has done this? I cannot think of any and I say that actions like the above are from an irresponsible man trying to tear down our country. Left alone and not dealt with Trump will further divide our country.

Why do you think people need so much to believe in god and religion?
DenoPenno comments on Apr 7, 2019:
Everyone may not be able to see this but it is so plain to me. My step dad once told me that if I was correct then he had very little to look forward to. His statement refers to his age and the fact that he believes he will see mom and all his dead relatives when he dies, and his death gets closer all the time. Dreams of heaven are to be a great big reunion to him and they can all worship god forever and ever. That's the appeal of religion. You die and get everything back if you are faithful. Well, maybe not your dog but the bible does have spirit animals. This is all a great big hope. I saw an Assemblies of God bus yesterday with writing on it that said "a place of hope." We are afraid to die so we hope. The only proof I find for this nonsense is writings in a book. It gets weaker when you see that there are so many books with these claims but they are all different. Yes they are. Nobody ever came back from the dead and nobody flew to heaven on a winged horse.
The "both are the same" argument is devoid of any thought.

Your account is just fine because the ones that are calling you are mining for your information. I get these calls all the time. In most cases the number that called you will be invalid if you call it back for any reason. The numbers used by the scammers are often not real at all. My experience in this has produced calls that claim my social security has been cut off, or my bank account as well, or that the IRS is wanting to lock me up. The amazing thing is that my phone can in no way be connected with me at all. My name is not connected to any of it and it's like a "throw down" phone.
This is absolutely priceless.

DenoPenno comments on Apr 5, 2019:
Nothing is new in that argument because the bible is totally static and that makes it impossible to come up with anything new that would be classified as "evidence." On the science end of the supposed discussion there is nothing to grasp at all. There never was. Apologists continue to post on how you cannot touch their god because he exists in another universe. This is why we cannot prove or disprove him in any way. God travels from his universe to ours without leaving any evidence whatsoever. He is sort of like a fish jumping from one fish bowl to the other, then back again without anyone knowing or seeing. The best the fish argument shows is that some of us have taken the bait.

Cool! My take on it is that you ran over a Jurassic Fork and the car went out of control and you ended up in the clutches of the werewolf. The prehistoric ones are really bad.
Anyone favour a mirror site to this one, but just for atheists and agnostics?
DenoPenno comments on Apr 1, 2019:
I didn't vote but I see what you are saying. I also belong to Atheist Nexus but I am on this site mostly now.
Are you able to contain your emotions about religion when discussing/debating belief with a ...
DenoPenno comments on Apr 1, 2019:
I see a lot of what you are saying. I still capitalize the C word out of habit. It's hard for me to tolerate most believers, however I had a 3 hour phone conversation with a lady friend in Jersey last night and I love her to death. She is a believer and we can discuss it. If I had more money I would marry her but I find that her evidence for something religious is mostly faith based. People should be able to work around that. I can't refuse to have a relationship of any kind with you simply because you believe in the invisible man. The poisonous belief is when they have to let you go because of their fear of you "burning in hell" and you don't take it seriously.
Image recognition.
DenoPenno comments on Apr 1, 2019:
You can use Google for that. Sometimes they even have the real name of the person in the picture. I have noticed that several pics look real but cartoonish. One person in here has a pic that looks funny. Someone asked her f she was a sock puppet.
For those who have missed "Deadwood".
DenoPenno comments on Apr 1, 2019:
Thanks. I'll have to watch this. A great part of my earlier life was fascination with the west and the sixgun.
Everyone believes that their religion is the right one, but who is right?
DenoPenno comments on Apr 1, 2019:
Religions and holy books the world over have no validity of truth to them. Nobody that has died has returned to tell you about it. Oh, your friend had a near death experience and he went to heaven. No, his body was still here the entire time. Now you want to make up and invisible part of him that went somewhere instead. If I leave you alone to believe this nonsense you will just keep on making it up. People from other areas of the world have their own version of it. Why is that? Apparently none of them are right.
I am going to vote for Trump!!!
DenoPenno comments on Apr 1, 2019:
I'm gonna vote for Ike.
Just got an email saying I have two free gifts! One is a trump cap (usually $29.
DenoPenno comments on Apr 1, 2019:
I would not want a Trump cap if it was free. Seriously.
I was wholeheartedly a pro-BREXIT campaigner but now I want the UK to remain in the EU ! Though as ...
DenoPenno comments on Mar 30, 2019:
I'm shocked by Americans that actually believe the Royals will secretly leave the UK if Brexit occurs. I've seen posts on this and heard a few talking. Where will the Queen go? What did the Royals do before the UK became a part of the EU? Every day I run onto people who cannot think.

How do we know that's a prayer closet? If could be what's left of the crapper.
It seems to me from antiquity and beyond, that every religion boils down to giving god a new name.
DenoPenno comments on Mar 30, 2019:
Most people who claim favor with god also claim to know his name. New names come up almost every generation.
I cannot comprehend the amount of bigotry and intolerance I see among my fellow atheists sometimes.
DenoPenno comments on Mar 30, 2019:
I agree with you. The only person I hate is a clown. Ever since our last election I've had a big fear of clowns.
The Church of Satan isn't having it... LOL ?
DenoPenno comments on Mar 30, 2019:
I'm afraid that I have to agree with all of that.
Here's a delightful coincidence, we're tired of his lard ass too! [rawstory.com]

Then why doesn't he just step down? I'm so frigging tired of every day being something about him!
Party of great healthcare?!? Bullshit!
DenoPenno comments on Mar 30, 2019:
Total bullshit. Now Trump takes off to completely eliminate the ACA with no GOP plan in site and nobody working on one either. This is the great healthcare that they will provide.
Conservative Bible Project aims to rewrite scripture to counter perceived liberal bias - New York ...
DenoPenno comments on Mar 29, 2019:
While they want to be conservative and claim Jesus was making his followers "fishers of people" they also disavow Jesus being involved in any free handouts. I like my bible where it said Jesus warned against eating with "Shriners or Republicans."
Mueller Report Ends a Shameful Period for the Press [truthdig.
DenoPenno comments on Mar 29, 2019:
The irony is that it seems this all might be coming true. Not that I side with or support Trump but I'm beginning to think that we are being experimented with. This is a game of seeing which oligarchy type we would best adapt to.

Oh Mitchy please explain.
DenoPenno comments on Mar 29, 2019:
Maybe because if you see it we will have national security concerns. Remember that Mitch holds out for "nuclear options." That means that the GOP does whatever they want. They have no shame.

I have friends there but I'm starting to develope a lot of problems with that site. Trolls popping in to comment and run, then you get blamed for it, is at the base of some of this. "Likes" is another thing, and the strange mix of conspiracy comrades is yet another. Currently some antivaxers want me to see that it is vaccines making everyone in the world sick. Sorry. I just cannot see that. I've been vaccinated all my life with no ill effects.

Trump tells Russia to get its troops out of Venezuela
DenoPenno comments on Mar 28, 2019:
It is all about oil and nothing more. Venezuela caters to Russia and they have sent "aid" but somehow the country is viewed as being on the invisible divide of the American side of the world. Trump may be on the brink of pissing off his friend, Vlad, or this is just a game we are playing to drive American gas prices higher. Over all, both sides will sell more stuff.
Is it me or this app feels like a religion or govt?
DenoPenno comments on Mar 28, 2019:
Patterns can be determined by these things if you do it long enough. With enough members you can sell their likes and dislikes to groups who want to sell them products and you will get rich. It's like in the bible where god was always saying not to number the people but somebody was always numbering the people.
What will cause the apocalypse?
DenoPenno comments on Mar 28, 2019:
The number one thing that will cause the apocalypse is continued belief in it. This idea came from a biblical book.
