I can relate to this and it happens to me often. I "lost" an item once that I keep in a closet in the little bedroom. It then got into my brain that I left it on the porch and a neighbor kid stole it while I was gone. After 3 or 4 times of looking I found it back in the little bedroom closet where it should have been. Is it ghosts or demons playing a trick? Yes, it was me and I simply did not see that item in my closet the first few times I looked for it. Years ago I was in a car with others and we had to scream at the driver because he was pulling out in front of an oncoming car. The driver honestly admitted he did not see that car. Tuesday I delivered to a business with Fox news on and the big headlines were Hunter being brought up on a paternity suit and questioning what Joe says about his accomplishments. Religion believes that everything is demons if you are Evangelical. I was taught this at one time. Recently I mentioned a person who was said to be LGBTQ and the religious person I was talking to told me flatly that her church believed you could "pray that away." Apparently a lot of folks believe this error all around the world.

We Europeans know that the US are a world of its own, and that it is kind of weird.

A Libertarian can believe damned near anything. Trump was backed by the Kock brothers and others who were Libertarians. Admittedly Trump was for all the things you mention but some of us "Liberals" are like myself and call ourselves Progressives. Trump and friends fall into being Conservatives.
