@EdwinMcCravy I use a small g these days when writing of a god simply because the word "God" is not a name and was not the name of the biblical god. Getting into arguments on what that biblical god's name really was is pointless unless you are standing on biblical belief.

Gay religious people just seem to ignore parts of the bible that are anti-gay. I don't know how they do that. I would not want to belong to something that badly. I consider myself agnostic. I was raised fundamentalist apostolic apocalyptic crazy Christian and left at age 24. There were no options for me as a child. It was all hellfire and brimstone and spankings and the world will end in 2000. My doubts started as I began to realize the prejudice that ...
DenoPenno replies on Feb 24, 2018:
Due to a modern bad numbering system it was said that the earth would end in 2000. Even in the Buybull it constantly said god did not want "numbering of the people." Oh, wait. End in 2000. It's already 2018.
I can't believe I only just found this out now, but New Zealand's famous blind bi sexual goose has ...

I'm pretty sure it's a universal thing that humans and animals with penises will stick said penises into anything.
DenoPenno replies on Feb 24, 2018:
My penis has a few restrictions. There are a few things it doesn't want to make a habit of.
Asking for prayers....?
geeky1965 comments on Feb 24, 2018:
My question is if they believe in heaven and god, why do they fight to live? Why do they try all the chemo, medications, and surgery to stay alive when "god is calling them home"?
DenoPenno replies on Feb 24, 2018:
Good question. It's coz they "have their doubts" about god and religion. Remember that the Christian has this "hope" of eternal life in Jesus. It is a "hope" because nobody knows for sure.
Religious suffering
EmeraldJewel comments on Feb 21, 2018:
I spent day and night always paranoid that everyone was going to Hell that I loved and I could remember a time I was convinced that if I didn’t convince them to get saved I’d be the one to pay for it. I also remember hating myself because I thought I was this evil sinner, who didn’t deserve to...
DenoPenno replies on Feb 23, 2018:
Yes, it was US who helped crucify Jesus and nail him to a cross. Poor Jesus. He probably got nailed more than anybody else and it hurt him the most. I think they used extra nails on him. (Cry now) We made it worse by not believing and we were the worst sinners. Come to Jesus right now for only $19.95. Tomorrow may be too late. Going up to $35.00 by Wednesday.
What has been the dumbest religious comment/response/statement you have ever heard personally?
Pooska comments on Jan 2, 2018:
Had a co-worker tell me that NASA is keeping the truth about the earth being flat to keep us away from our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.....dead serious.... thinks NASA is working for the devil
DenoPenno replies on Feb 22, 2018:
Well, in defense of your co-worker, Pooska, the earth is flat in the bible and on maps. Maybe that is just to have us avoid looking all around our textbooks. IDK? LOL

PEGUS comments on Jan 4, 2018:
A revival preacher said, "If the King James version of the Bible was good enough for Jesus, it is good enough for me".
DenoPenno replies on Feb 22, 2018:
As an ex-Pentecostal I have heard that same very remark. It shows how ignorant they are. Jesus had no bibles. People did not "talk strange" in those days, and the remark about a loved one dying and they say "god needed another angel" is straight out of 1900. I am so glad I got away from them.

my friend is an astro physicist and says there are people in his profession who are religious .AND chris hadfield is a canadian astronaut and he says half of the astronauts believe in that voodoo. !!!!!
DenoPenno replies on Feb 22, 2018:
If you are an astro physicist and claim to believe in gods you have not been trained properly. You will find no answers in a god.
When a person cheat, do you look for revenge or do you just let it go?

Cut ties and move on with your integrity in tact. Karma doesn’t exist, btw. Fallible humans do, and theyre everywhere.
DenoPenno replies on Feb 22, 2018:
Karma is "doing." That's all it means. You are doing something. I suppose those who take it into "what goes around comes around" think that if you are "doing" long enough then this is the logical outcome. I hate that old cliché about Karma.

I just recently started back into the internet dating scene after my fiance died last fall. I met a guy who was fantastic,,money, house, job, wine, fireplace, sex...fantastic. Until on the 3rd date we got into more in depth conversation over his son going to Yale and that college turned him gay, he...
DenoPenno replies on Feb 21, 2018:
The only thing I could agree with that guy on is girls joining the Boy Scouts. They were separate coz the sexes are separate. As for scouts from other countries and they came here, etc. live with that. America is a melting pot. We all came from somewhere.
I’ve noticed something on here.

Modern conservatives seem to go more with subjective reality these days. Just add religion to that and it means whatever you want it to mean.
What would make you believe in a God?
Ash831 comments on Oct 22, 2017:
I would believe in a god if it presented itself to me in no uncertain terms. Like I believe in gravity.
DenoPenno replies on Feb 19, 2018:
Behold, god stands at the door and knocks. If you open the door and let him in, then he will not do all those bad things he's going to do to you if you do not open the door. Sorry. That's how religion works.
What would make you believe in a God?
Rikachu comments on Sep 29, 2017:
If 'god' exists, it would know exactly what would convince me. Either it is unable to, unwilling, doesn't care, or simply does not exist.
DenoPenno replies on Feb 19, 2018:
I agree with your every word. In fact, this god would know what it would take to make any person believe and that would be the evidence god would have provided. Scripture says god does not want anyone to perish, so why the lack of evidence? It can't be about "faith." Did the 500 people who saw the risen Jesus have faith? No, they did not need it. Paul wanted to convince everyone, but we might ask if Jesus even knew 500 people. If he did, how would they know him? Was he floating in the air or did he show them all his hands that will now remain nail scarred forever? For the record, I no longer believe the Goat and Sheep Herders Guide to the Galaxy. Too much nonsense.
How do you deal with a relationship where someone believes in conspiracy, gods, aliens, racism, etc?
Donotbelieve comments on Feb 19, 2018:
I end it. I prefer sanity in a relationship.
DenoPenno replies on Feb 19, 2018:
I hear you. I prefer sanity and no drama. I talk about drama all the time but it's how I see this drama in others and it really has nothing to do with me. Just going to a Christmas dinner at my oldest daughter's last year, I came home thinking "Jesus, (swear word) why is it so hard for these people to have a relationship? Watching and listening was like agony.
Ghosts are as mythical as God but what if an atheist believes in Ghosts.
Jackolope74 comments on Feb 13, 2018:

Why are Christians being marginalized in America?
DenoPenno comments on Feb 11, 2018:
Christians are taught that they will be persecuted and Evangelicals really take this to heart. If Jesus said you will be persecuted then it must be happening. This is also why we have a "war on Christmas" every year. People have a fit if you say "Happy Holidays" despite the fact that most know ...
DenoPenno replies on Feb 17, 2018:
@GoldenMean It's a religious thing coming from years of being taught that Christmas was a birthday for Jesus. Even if they do not really believe it, they think "Happy Holidays" is taking away from Jesus and the bible.
Would you want a Christian God to be real?

Sometimes I have a strong feeling of being watched. The name for that is "illusion". The same thing an illusionist uses for entertainment, or a con artist uses for profit.
DenoPenno replies on Feb 11, 2018:
A strong feeling of being watched is also known as paranoia. As a heightened awareness a certain amount of paranoia is normal. Go beyond that and you have a problem.
Religion..should it matter
birdingnut comments on Feb 11, 2018:
Religions are mostly human constructs to get control over populations. The GOP takes full advantage of this..scoring an obedient voter base through the alt-right religious fanatics.

My love or their love?
SonderOpia comments on Feb 11, 2018:
I think the pain of being in love and being rejected is worse than the pain of not loving someone that is completely in love with you. However both situations suck.
DenoPenno replies on Feb 11, 2018:
I can agree with you easily. Many I know think that I should now hate my ex wife because she left me. Sometimes people grow apart. The only reason they want me to "hate her" is that she is from Kenya, so now I know my "racist friends." Life gets more marvelous as you go along and learn more things.
