You ARE seeing the evidence "up-close and personal". He is running his golf course in Florida as if it is part of the US government, and making a huge profit from that. He does it openly; he does not try to hide it. Apparently- he is entitled to commit any crime he choses.
So Trump states he wants to be a dictator. Big surprise. [yahoo.com]

I repeat myself. The stock market is booming. The greed monsters are happy 'forever'- like in 1929. In the summer of 1929 the stock market was being played; stocks were being bought on margin; too rich still wasn't rich enough. The song, Happy Days are Here Again, came out just about the time that the worst financial crash in history started. Trump has had four or five 'successful' bankruptcies, where Trump walked away with the money and the investors got screwed. Will it be worse this time?

How SHOCKING it would be if Trump told the boring truth; how shocking it would be if these religious text, whether Hindi, Christian, or anything else, said, "This earth came about, approx. four billion years ago; and we have no knowledge about 'how' or 'why'." First, of all, I don't know if a "few drops of iodine" are poisonous or not, and uneducated as I am, I don't know what some of these other concoctions are either. There are days that are up and there are days that are down- VERY DOWN- where I realize that survival, for the sake of survival, is not worth the effort. I found your post interesting, and I agree with most of it, especially the first four entries. Want to be happy; find something to laugh at- even if it is Netflix. Walk in a quiet area, where the body is in motion, but all the cacophony of abuse and absurdity is removed too. It isn't from lack of trying on my part. I know what to do------- now I would like some positive results. People who 'enjoy' moaning and groaning do not have my empathy. Too lazy to get off their asses! They have made their choices. By contrast, some people who have serious conditions (I wish I had a magic wand and could fix their injuries) are living every day as if it was a joyous day and are happy to be alive. I truly admire such people.

I believe it is Manitou who is the god of the Hurons, but from what I understand, that is a respect of all of Nature. But going back millennia peoples have understood that what they didn't like for themselves; they shouldn't do to others. And even though it is strange, at times, even other residents of this rock have shown compassion; there is a film of a gorilla picking up a child that fell into its compound. It is probably the human beastie that is the most violent of all.

@VictoriaNotes Well in the northern provinces, the Christian Reformed Church is present, and they are on the weird side. In the south, the former Catholic area, they probably tell the best jokes about religion. My former true-love was from Limburg, and we never thought about talking about religion. Be aware; drugs are a serious problem; the mayor of Heerlen was murdered by the drug dealers. But one thing, sex is more natural- but that still means "monogamous" for most people. (Ya, sure) If I bought it, I would probably use it wrong; instead of 14 minutes, 13 or 15 minutes. LOL. BIG congrats on your cutting down. At first it is a HUGE amount of effort, don't let anyone lie to you- but the rewards in the end are also HUGE. But normal activity after awhile, just becomes "normal". My uncle had his leg amputated because of diabetes- and this was caused by his lifestyle. When I don't opiate myself with food, I feel restless, like I want to run around the block 50 times- the way I 'want' to feel- a much better feeling than being a bear that gorges itself then hibernates for a large portion of the winter.----Yes, and also remember there is a bit of loneliness when you step out of the fat crowd; you may have to find different acquaintances that value a positive lifestyle.---Hope I don't sound like a preacher. LOL God-dude doesn't want me on his side.

@twshield I just read a news article in the paper a few days ago about all the western world being 'fat or gross'. It centered in on Britain, where it said by the age of 40 75% of Brits would be overweight- most of it caused by binge-drinking. Most of my life I have been active, but I 'decided' to get fat, and make a fool of myself, a few years back. I put the disgusting photo on my bathroom mirror. I have lost 46 pounds since then. I am NO hero; it came off slowly. I did NOT concentrate on being on a "diet". Everybody is on a diet, for what; they don't intend to lose anything! Be ULTRA VICIOUS WITH YOURSELF- enjoy health; enjoy your food. (I am a quasi-vegetarian; I eat some fish) I eat lots of veggies, barely cooked, they taste fantastic and have texture; I eat the correct amount of food; I never starve myself. Be with people who are exercising and are talking about interesting things: hiking, going to an art gallery, whatever. This does not mean that having a working knowledge about nutrition is not important.------I hope that what I said encourages someone who takes some aspects of life seriously.

One thing they won't have is a bunch of clowns, too drunk to talk, dressed in green, made in China. Honestly, AH get tossed.

@RobAnybody I got tired of being a falling-down drunk decades ago, when I grew up. I like to 'enjoy my pint'- rather than drink so much that I could swim in it- that has to be a very weird concept. Certainly isn't my "extension of good cheer". I went into the pub late last night, for one, and there was one of the bar flies who had been there since about 13:00. Interesting? Not.

ChrisR comments on Feb 26, 2018:
Depends what the crisis is ... I tend to do a lot of research about how the possible scenarios are likely to play out and then that helps me put everything in perspective and to rationalise the potential options, good and bad.

I just reach down within myself and pull out the strength I need to deal with the crisis. I am a person that reacts to problems and crisis very different from most I suspect; I am at my best in the worst of situations. In contrast easy times make me lazy and complacent.
Diogenes replies on Feb 26, 2018:
Yes, agree with your last sentence; every time a person defeats a crisis it makes them stronger- but then we get to another point, if life is just a matter of trying to stay afloat, where a person doesn't actually live a life, but is in a position of survival for the sake of survival, is it worth the effort? Even a fool should know when it is time to quit.

Rob- I find that when I am at the dead bottom, that having a couple of pints and depressive thinking actually works- getting falling-down drunk, on the other hand, just adds more to the depression. I say I take my Prozac in liquid form.
