I have to agree with your last sentence. How any non-believer prays is simply beyond me. I can strive to make my life better, the lives of people better but that in no way leads me down a path to devine. Searching for that & praying for that just says (to me) the person is religious but something has pushed them away from their church and while looking for something else fell into spirituality

Yes the planet is changing & has always changed. BUT we know there are things humans are doing to cause these changes to occur at a faster rate. Why would we not want to do everything in our power to correct those negatives where possible? Why would any sane person not want to protect the very home we live in (on)? As far as those starving children mentioned several comments down - think of how many starving humans there will be as the climate warms & storms increase, whether it is drought in larger areas, flooding that wipes out crops, or disease carried by bugs which previously died off during colder weather. Once again, why not take as many possible measures to do absolutely every thing we can? No matter how large, or small, those measures are.

I am 51, I work in retail, have never had the flu nor a flu shot - until this past Tuesday. I have no fear of getting the flu but my dad is 76 & his girlfriend will be 86 in November and she has Parkinson's disease along with all the complications that accompany that horrible disease. I will do everything in my power to keep them safe. Fyi - you don't even feel the shot unlike some which burn like hell.
