5 Common Habits of Unsuccessful People (Are These Holding You Back?)
HippieChick58 comments on Feb 8, 2018:
This week has been hard, crappy traffic and... well, too much time on here! I've been pushing the envelope at getting to work in the morning and getting to bed at night. I am also good at procrastination, but not so much at work. I never lie, I never burn bridges. And conformity, have ya'll met me yet, do I seem like I conform? This list makes me feel pretty darn good!! :) Yay me!!

I trust that the sun will rise tomorrow, at least somewhere. I trust my kitties will get into something I don't want them to while I am gone, or hell, even if I am home. I trust that I AM going to die someday. That about sums up what I trust, so I guess I don't trust the rest.

HippieChick58 comments on Feb 7, 2018:
Nope, I was married for over 25 years. I had one long term relationship after that lasted 4ish years. I've moved 23 times in my life, and after a few years in a place I begin thinking of maybe it is time to move, then I take a nap and that feeling passes. So, no 7 year itch for me.

Can black people be racist?
HippieChick58 comments on Feb 7, 2018:
The Japanese and other Asian societies can be incredibly racist. Mixed race babies have a rough time in their society. I haven't checked into it in years, but girls who bore babies of American servicemen often placed the babies in orphanages. If they kept them they were often shunned. And the babies/children were discriminated against for not being pure. It was far worse for the babies of black fathers.

That is part of the reason there are so many "books" of the bible, and some conflicting stories. They were oral traditions later written down by many different people. Have you ever met a religious person that calls themself a humanist?
HippieChick58 comments on Feb 6, 2018:
Humanism is an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems. I don't find any religion there.

HippieChick58 comments on Feb 6, 2018:
I live in the flatlands in the middle of America, and Pete Ricketts is our governor. Very conservative, and currently freezing cold backwater. I am here because we moved here in 2005 for the ex's job. 2 of the kids graduated here and have stayed because their parents were here and they found jobs here and have put down some roots. The oldest moved here when she wanted to be closer to family, now she's married and starting a family. I actually grew up about 150 miles west of where I live now. I left the state after HS and didn't really expect to ever come back. Suhprize! Grandbabies are here, I'm staying.

When it comes to making a decision on that ballot issue I will read up on it. Generally I'm liberal but not always informed on all issues.

What’s your longest dry spell?
HippieChick58 comments on Feb 5, 2018:
About 8 years while I was married. I know the last time my ex and I had sex. And knowing him, he is still in that dry spell. After we split I did not exercise good judgement a few times. More recently, I really don't remember the last time I created the beast with two backs. More than a year for sure. After reading the comments I decided I needed to clarify. The ex is a web master of a xian website. He would get up early to work on the website before he went to work and therefore go to bed at 8 in the evening to get enough sleep. He also worked on the site after he got home from work. We had teenagers. When do you find out what is going on in teenagers lives? Closer to 11pm, that's for sure. So, he was already asleep when I'd get to bed, and I was pissed because he was never there for us. I still loathe that website. So, I never woke him up when I went to bed. And I could use my toys while he slept and never wake him.

Are you a Feminist? If so, what does it mean to you?
HippieChick58 comments on Feb 5, 2018:
In 1976 I wanted to join the Army. I had to have my dad sign the enrollment forms... I had to have daddy's permission. Had I wanted to get a credit card about that time I would have had to have daddy's permission. My male classmates of the same age did not have to have permission. This is why I am a feminist. I was smarter and more responsible than many of my male classmates, yet I needed permission to do what I wanted.... I only want equal rights and authority over my own body and my own life. Because of the battles of women before me and after me my daughters will never have to and never had to ask daddy for permission.

Heard this a couple times If the relationship takes work, It's the wrong relationship.
HippieChick58 comments on Feb 4, 2018:
Relationships take work, and compromise, and communication. The don't just happen, they are a living thing that needs to be nurtured. I trained a dog once, and as I was studying up on it the prevailing wisdom was you get the dog you deserve. If you put effort in you get a great dog. Same as for your relationship with others. Put the effort in and your relationship will be better for it. And the other wisdom is you don't "find" a good spouse, you become a good spouse.

Jan 2019. Quilt for 2 year old granddaughter, just learning her colors. Her mama wanted it to be a rainbow quilt.

January 13, 2021 My newest and smallest grandchild. She arrived 5 weeks early and is now 2.5 weeks old and is less than 7 pounds. I've never held such a small baby before. She is quite perfect and very amazing. I love being a Grammy.
