I can talk to you about quilting, my cats, my grandchildren, or my books. :D You have to find someone who shares at least some of your interests, the right person will find you fascinating. You're also 20, you've barely started. Take your time, talk to people, become the person you are meant to be. I am so not the same person I was at 20, I like myself so much better now. Get out there, have experiences, do things, learn things. That is what makes you interesting. Become an expert at something, find your passion. Find what makes you happy and follow that. The rest of life will fall into place. But get out there and live your life, don't wait for it to happen, take charge of making it happen.

@glennlab Because he is not in Washington State, he's in Syria. I am messaging with him, just because I know he's full of hokum. I just want to see where he takes it. And when he is kicked off the site then I'll know, and when he gives me ammo to make a case I will take it to SiteSuppor/Admin.
Reported this clown already . I am hoping than no lady here falls for that crap .

@WilliamCharles I had lunch with several Humanist friends who have grown up in this area and know farming. Seems the floods washed away the top soil and has deposited sand, and in some cases heavy metals. The floods also destroyed grain being stored for later sale. This flood will take years to recover from, 2 years in a best case scenario and never in the worst case. Expect food prices to go up this year as farmers can't plant.

@AncientNight Our kids sometimes forget who raised them and try to parent us. It is vastly amusing at times, and annoying at others. When my kids tell me that they're not happy with something I plan to do, I tell them "duly noted." And then I do whatever it was that I planned to do.

@AncientNight If it makes you happy go for it!! Yes, you are exposing yourself to more risk when you ride it than if you ride in a car. However, if you have adequate insurance, no dependents, and you're a safe driver, why the hell not? Not like you're going to leave several small children with one fewer parent if something goes wrong. When better time to ride? I haven't decided if it I have a cold or my spring allergies acting up. Take care of your self.
HippieChick58 replies on Mar 31, 2019:
@Elaine57 The fun thing about the allergies is they come and go. In theory it is weather patterns, wind direction, what is growing/blooming in the area, or exposure to animals that aren't my own. The reality is a choice of whether to tough it out or medicate. If the days are bad I medicate at bedtime, it helps me sleep. And then just wait for the winds to shift again.

HippieChick58 comments on Mar 30, 2019:
It is hard when our friends keep repeating their patterns. Is her friendship worth the drama? Only you can answer that.
HippieChick58 replies on Mar 30, 2019:
@WaywardAtheist What do you get out of your friendship with her? Sounds like she is a taker more than a giver. This is a question only you can answer, but the hard questions are: Are you better off with her or without her? And what are you getting out of the friendship. To me it seems that your needs aren't being met., but I am sure I don't have the full story. As women we're conditioned to ignore our needs and focus on others. We have to learn to put ourselves higher than that.

@mordant The common wisdom for smart shopper is to shop the perimeter of the grocery store, that is where the real food is. I don't buy much in the way of processed food, I cook large batches and freeze leftovers. I think I broke the TV habit by being in the military and living overseas. We had one channel so limited American TV. When my kids were growing up I limited their TV time. They tell me they were culturally deprived, but they were also the smartest and best read kids in their classes. I turned off cable TV during the Iowa Primary, I don't miss it. I also realized I was not watching TV so much as I was using it as background noise while I was online. I have never seen Game of Thrones, and I don't expect that to change. Give me a good book any day.

HippieChick58 replies on Mar 30, 2019:
@Olnoseven I have run into that issue many times. I get around it by copy and pasting, and then editing the article. I know not everyone wants to do that. And that is OK. I find the discussion of race and dating interesting. I'm about as white and they come and grew up in a small Midwestern town. My uncle married a Japanese woman just post Korean war. Aunt Mickie gave me an attitude check once when I said something racist. She pointed out that she wasn't white. She was my hero for so many things, it was eye opening for me. I have tried to not let race/skin color influence my decisions. As Maya Angelou told us, when you know better do better.
