@Robecology It is easy to set up selling on eBay. They have all sorts of tutorials and tips for new sellers. I have been a seller with eBay off and on since 1999. If it was costly or complicated I would never have gotten started. Your friend will need to have a camera to take pictures of what he/she wants to sell. The more pictures the better. Cell phone camera is usually fine. I take the time to edit my pictures. My seller ID is: repurposefullyyours Your friend will have to know approximate weight of the item being sold, and the size of the package it will be mailed in. Although eBay has some extensive data bases, most stuff they know how much it is going to weigh. They are linked to USPS and UPS and will help you figure out postage costs. I find it fascinating to watch the progress of the auctions. I have a hot one now (https://www.ebay.com/itm/333051508260) that has been getting bids from the start. Usually bids don't come in until the last few hours. I set up my auctions to end Sunday evening approx 7 CST. If you have any other questions, I will be happy to help as much as I can.

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — Prosecutors are researching an appeal after a Kansas judge found that a 13- and 14-year-old girl were partly to blame for a sexual encounter with a 67-year-old man and reduced his prison sentence. The Kansas City Star reports that Leavenworth County District Judge Michael Gibbens said that "the victims in this case, in particular, were more an aggressor than a participant in the criminal conduct" before sentencing Raymond Soden to five years and 10 months in prison. Prosecutors sought 13-plus years because Soden had prior convictions for battery and for sexual battery. In ordering a lighter prison term than what sentencing guidelines called for, the judge noted at the Dec. 4 hearing that the two girls had voluntarily gone to Soden's house and had taken money for sexual favors. The sentenced imposed was eight years less than what was called for in Kansas sentencing guidelines. The judge even questioned how much the victims were harmed, referencing a statement where the younger girl told authorities she felt “uncomfortable” about an incident where there had been physical contact. “And so she’s uncomfortable for something she voluntarily went to, voluntarily took her top off of, and was paid for?” Gibbens asked. “Yes, judge. She was also a 13-year-old who under our laws can’t consent to anything,” said the prosecutor handling the case. The judge said he understood that, but told the prosecutor, “I wonder what kind of trauma there really was to this victim under those peculiar circumstances.” The notion of the victims being referred to as "aggressors" has drawn outrage. “These girls are minors, and are the victims, not the aggressors,” said Michelle Herman, president and CEO of Sunflower House, a child advocacy center. “Sexual assault is never the victim’s fault. It doesn’t matter what the girls did or didn’t do, he is still the adult and nobody deserves to be taken advantage of sexually.”

@ProudMerrie @KKGator Not a purse, back in the day your purse would have been carried under your dress and tied to your waist. You don't have enough hands, so you grab a handbasket.

Thank you!! I had been eating pretty much vegan/vegetarian, then for a bit I did Atkins just to see what would happen. I stopped eating sugar about 6 months ago, my drug of choice used to be Plain M&Ms. Since I stopped working on 9/7/18 I have lost more than 30 pounds, I am down a full clothing size. Currently I fast less often because I was losing muscle instead of fat. Most days I walk about 4 miles, I try always to get my 10,000 steps in. Today has just been weird but I did take a yoga class. I joined a gym when the weather turned to winter. I lift weights and walk. I don't buy much meat, unless my kids are coming for dinner. My kids (all girls) are ok with vegetarian, but their spouses/partners are not so much. And when I'm at their homes I eat what they cook. Most of the time I'm vegetarian and high fat. It is a journey, my goal is to be healthy and keep up with the grandbabies.

@Hathacat I am thoroughly enjoying Bill Bryson's book. I belong to a Secular Book Club and this week we are starting the Hawking book so last night I read the assigned chapters of that. Tonight I get to go back to Bryson's book. He writes well, makes complicated stuff understandable, and is humorous as well. It is great bedtime reading, very absorbing and very relaxing.

@SeaGreenEyez The old joke in the Xian community is that the church pastor upset someone and so the congregation split. One of the new congregations had another dispute and split again. And again. Finally it was Moses and his wife Dorcas. A friend was visiting and asked how they were doing. Moses replied, "Well Dorcas and I don't agree, so she worships upstairs and I worship downstairs." You don't have to have a congregation to call yourself a minister, and for some denominations you don't have to have education or any kind of certification either.

HippieChick58 replies on Jan 30, 2019:
@Amisja It comes from WAY tooooo much experience with sleepless nights. I've been meditating seriously enough to call it a practice for about 4 months. One of the things I find is if I focus on breathing, and count one for a breath in, two for out and so forth, I rarely make it to 20 before I fall asleep. That doesn't mean I stay asleep, but it is an improvement. But I'm also walking 5 miles a day and getting other exercise, I'm physically tired at bedtime. When I start working again I know that will change and hopefully the sleep issues won't get out of control again.
I don't know how to sleep anymore.

HippieChick58 replies on Jan 30, 2019:
@Amisja That's a good start. I drink some teas that have some mildly sedative or relaxing effects from time to time. They do seem to help. Melatonin helps sometimes. Alcohol is useful. My fall back is Benadryl, and sometimes even that doesn't help. I try to turn off my phone (or just not use it) an hour before bedtime, and I meditate before I try to sleep. I cut all caffeine off at noon.
I don't know how to sleep anymore.

@Amisja What are you willing to change? Generally people don't change until the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of changing. What point are you at?
