My mom died in 1972, she was 45, born in 1927. She was far too young to pass on, but Ovarian Cancer sucks. My dad died at age 88 or 89, he was born in 24. I missed my mom all the time, and missed her most of all when my kids were little, there were so many things I needed to ask her.

@josh_karpf Way back when, early 90s Chick fil A was pretty good. We lived in Hampton, VA and used to eat it pretty frequently. Then we moved, and moved, and moved. Chick Fil A is now in Omaha. And because I was close by, and I was hungry, and I hadn't tried in in over 20 years I decided to check it out. It has not aged well. The food not as good as I remembered. With their political stance I have put them on my list of places to avoid, and I have no regrets in doing so.

And as a New Year's experiment some of us decided to unblock every personal block we had. If you are blocked in a group you are still blocked there. I don't stalk and or bait you, even if I had that much time, there are so many more pleasant things to do. As far as I can tell, this is the first time I've seen you in days. Why does it matter that someone was or was not a Jewess? Why would that matter especially on this site? Many of us have Jewish ancestry, it doesn't change who we are. I choose not to be nit picky, and go for the meaning of the conversation. Not everyone on this site has English as their primary language, and not everyone is careful with their use of grammar. I'd rather advance the conversation than throw up roadblocks due to minor errors.

Now gratitude is something I do try to practice as often as possible. I always tell my kids how proud I am of the adults they have become. I try to build up others, and encourage them. When we are encouraged we are stronger, and right now we need to be strong. I am grateful to this site and the amazing people I've met on here. I am grateful to you for your presence here, and allowing me the opportunity to hopefully help. I'm sure the jury is out on that one.

@sweetcharlotte Yes, I try to walk at least 10,000 steps daily, 10 flights of stairs, keep my heart rate up at least 45 minutes, and be active at least an hour. Today so far I have 11,183 steps. I have a FitBit to keep track of everything. I lift weights as well.

@Dave75 I never did Tinder. I was on OKC and POF several user IDs, I was on Match for a while. I did EHarmony, and Christian Mingle years ago when I was still trying to be a xian. Those folks were a bit (huge bit) over the top for me. I did a few other senior sites, and kept running into the same people and the same damn scammers.

@Benthoven I fell on the ice three times last winter. Plus I had a desk job, worked frequent over time, and I have been considerably overweight. So there were mornings when they did not want to work well. In September when I became unemployed I started walking and strengthening the knees. I've lost weight and I don't remember the last morning I had to think about my knees before I rolled out of bed.

Does it really? And yes, I knew it was Kanji, I was stationed in Okinawa when I was in my early 20s. I can't read Kanji, except for my name, but I still remember how to tell which store is a pharmacy. Japanese pharmacies were off limits to Americans.

@RavenCT Good to know. Usually I had only one cat or two cats and one litter box. Since I got Zelda I've had two boxes as the vet recommended. For a while the litter boxes were on different floors, but that wasn't working for me. So they are in the basement laundry room which is the perfect location for me, and apparently them. I have to wonder how they decide what to do in each box, do they communicate? What criteria is used for the box on the right being primarily for stools. And yes, odd thing do take up head space from time to time.
