@twshield I usually fast from dinner to the next dinner. I fast for 24 hours but only really skip two meals. I can't sleep if I am hungry, so I choose to start after dinner. When I feel hungry during the day I drink water and find something to do, and that distracts me. Intermittent fasting is hotly debated in various communities. My trainer at my gym recommends against it. Others recommend for it. So I go by how I feel and how my numbers are doing. I'm no longer pre-diabetic, I feel good, and I'm losing body fat not muscle.

@RavenCT I had two c-sections in Army hospitals in the 80s. I had my gall bladder out in the early 80s, also in an Army hospital. I don't remember what drugs I got. The last c-section was in a civilian hospital, don't remember any pain drugs. That doesn't mean I didn't get opiates, I just don't remember getting any pain meds.

No, on the contrary he had a tiny bit of a belly but was working on it. He lived next to a park with a great walking path and was walking daily. His wife's chronic condition had meant limited sex life and she didn't want anything kinky. He was looking forward to an improved sex life and exploring the kinkier side. Non smoker, seemed to be in great health. and he was just in his very early 50s.

My meditation this morning discussed how resolutions set you up for pass/fail, whereas setting the intention to change something allows you to improve gradually. So I am setting an intention to be more selective of with whom and when I do battle. There are some battles that cannot be won, like trying to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig. There is a "pig" I have had words with a time or two, and I need to ignore that pig.

The idea of surgery just doesn't appeal to me. My grandmother was 5'11" and used to complain about "my damn thumb" as she rubbed the base of her thumb on her left hand.
