HippieChick58 replies on Jun 16, 2018:
@citronella I don't set Roscoe to run after I go to bed. It make too much noise. One time it delayed cleaning for charging, and it stated up after all the lights were out. I saw lights from the living area, and I got my bat out of my closet. I'm so glad I did not call 911 on my Robovac. It only runs while I'm up, and I've never had a cat accident that I didn't catch before Roscoe ran. One of the cats like to box with Roscoe, which I think is why his cleaning was delayed.

Are we including lies of omission? A lot of information should private and only shared with those we trust. Some people are really nutty about "lying". I'll tell my sister I ran 5 miles but my GPS says I ran 4.7 or 5.5 miles, she considers that deliberate lying and I think that's too much BS....

We don't ever see that there might not be time to do important things like repair relationships. Let go of the guilt sweetie. It is a burden you don't need to carry. Forgive yourself, love yourself. As for plans. What do you really want to do, or where do you want to go? What makes your heart happy, what is in your bucket list? What will you be sad you didn't do when you face your own death? What is it that is important to you, that makes you who you are? Make plans sweetie, or life will pass you by and you will die without having lived. Take a chance!

From back in the day when I was attending bible studies we had a discussion about this. The "official" stance is no one knows. In their view the dying person in his/her last conscious moments could have cried out to god asking for forgiveness. Also, the desire to commit suicide stems from illness, and gives you absolution because the disease caused the death. To debate where someone's soul went after death is IMHO futile and just freaking mean.

HippieChick58 replies on Jun 9, 2018:
@Ellatynemouth I had to supply my own hollow wall anchor, what they supplied would not have worked. I do have drills and other tools. I decided if I was going to live alone I needed to be able to take care of anything that came up. If I didn't know how to do it, I googled it. Surprisingly I'm pretty competent. When my granddaughter was born her daddy had his own home remodeling company, and I hired him to repaint my living room, dining room and kitchen. The ceilings are high and I don't want to do ladders that tall. My table and chairs came from an Estate Sale, they were kinda beat up. I also had SIL paint the table and chairs. I did the rest of the painting in my house. I've been here 6 years, and pretty soon I will have everything the way I need it. Maybe. And my kitties, I wanted strong names for my girls, and I like the lesser used letters of X and Z. And thanks, I'm pleased at how the paint job and furniture are turning out.
That might get me moving!

HippieChick58 replies on Jun 9, 2018:
Justin Trudeau is HOT! And coherent, eloquent, intelligent, and kind. I don't give a damn if he is French, he speaks English better than #45, is smarter, better looking, and far more presidential than #45. There simply is no comparison between the two and the US is for far worse for Don the Con.

@Stevil LOL, of course I did. I was dreading putting it together, but knowing I had help a phone call away was comforting. I did my happy dance and then started putting everything away and rearranging the kitchen a bit.

No home is complete without at least one cat. I had my cat Miss Millie for 16 years, and the last 8 years she was blind. She never jumped up on anything besides soft chairs, my bed, or the sofa. After she passed I got the ginger kitty, Xena who was about a year when I got her Febr 2017. Then in January I got the Zelda, the cat under the cabinet, and she is about a year now. They are the reason I got the closed cabinets. Previous the china and glass had not been behind closed doors and the girls knocked a glass down. I don't mind the glass being broken, I don't want glass in the carpet or the girls getting cut. And then the human kids have procreated also, so there are grandchildren. So it is time to get stuff closed up to protect the little peoples.

Wished we had an IKEA in Omaha. Did they shipped the cabinets ? I’ve used a company in town that makes a once a month (or so) run to IKEA for things that IKEA won’t ship.
HippieChick58 replies on Jun 9, 2018:
I lived in Overland Park, KS before moving to Omaha, and knowing there is an Ikea in Merriam, KS I decided a road trip was in order. So I drove down and spent the day revisiting old memories and Ikea. When I got home I called my son in law and he came over and carried the boxes to where I needed them. And at Ikea I had help loading into my car, and I did measure my car before I left to make sure they would fit. And yes, Ikea in Omaha would be fabulous.
