My experience with Missouri is that it is tripolar. There is St. Louis which IMHO has a very East Coast flavor and outlook. My ex grew up in the St. Louis area, I lived there a few time. Then there are the Ozarks, which is the hill billy back woods mentality. Then there is Kansas City which is western looking, modern and the only part I like. I also have lived in the KC area, and if not for my kids I'd move back there in a flash. I used to say on the Kansas side only, then the governor trashed the state and I'm glad I got away when I did.

HippieChick58 replies on Jun 3, 2018:
@Donna_I History is why. I live in Omaha. Street numbering starts at the eastern edge, and the city grew mostly to the west. I live at 168th street, my neighborhood was built in the early 2000s. For the city, Midtown is considered about 40th. To me that doesn't make sense, the middle of the mass of the town is about 90th. I've been here since 2005. Same reason Ohio is considered Midwest. Nope, not logical.

@Aushra I met a guy through a dating site, and I knew his wife had died. What wasn't clear was when. There were still flowers from the funeral in his house when we first met. He put up a profile the day after the funeral. He was smart and decent enough to realize he was rushing things and after a few weeks of dating he dropped off all dating sites and got into counseling. I met another recent widower just after that. It is likely their marriage was good and they wanted to keep that security going, they just don't realize that one size does not fit all.

You can turn the notification off. I have most of mine off, and the ringer is off when I'm at work. My calls go to VM during the day, and if they don't leave a message they don't get a call back. If they call more than 3 times without messages they get blocked.

@germangirl90439 I keep putting off the tatt, right now I'm thinking in the fall. I'm just a tad overwhelmed with my job and life right now. My ex was OK with the girls getting their ears pierced and they had it done pretty young. I have had two ear piercings for quite a while, I'm not sure if the second holes are still open, it has been a while since I wore earrings. Two of the girls did cartilage piercings, the oldest did not keep hers, too much pain. I think the youngest still has hers. Their dad might make comments but they have learned to blow it off. The girls don't put up with his BS.

@germangirl90439 My ex is very anti tatt, one of the girls got one when she went to college and pretty much kept it hidden from him for the next 4 years. Mine is usually covered, I don't wear shorts or short skirts. I see the ex at least every two months if not more often for family stuff. (the things I do for my kids) There have been a few occasions I've been in a skirt and one occasion where we were in swimsuits. If he saw it he didn't say anything which is amazing constraint for him.
