Born unbidden in the 50s, grew my hair in the 60s, student in the 70s, balding lecturer in the 80s, parent (enjoying a second childhood) in the 90s, language teacher / interpreter / translator in the 00s, tutor / writer / freelance in the 10s (enjoying a third childhood).
I lead a quiet, happy life of books, friends, cinema, art, music, sportswatching and avoiding advertising where possible. I value friendship and openness, my hates are unjustified self-importance and rich people / companies avoiding tax.
Militant atheist, no fan of corporate or capitalist tosh, I can keep it up all night (conversationally) and I enjoy laughing and making others laugh - humour is good for mental and physical health.
I do not act my age, and make no apologies for that.
