This is the natural evolution of what began with the movement that claimed "Feelings over Facts" was a legitimate standpoint. Once that wedge was firmly entrenched it took only a few tap of the metaphorical hammer to split open society and allow credence to th idea that the feelings of lunatics and dangerous insurgents are more important than the rule of law and convenient and comforting lies are a not only a social necessity but are in fact preferable to inconvenient and undesirable truths. If Trumpty gets away with this then it sets a terrible precedent in law that punishing the popular guilty is an infringement of civil and human rights not only those of the perpetrator, but those of the people who want to believe that their feeling being hurt by the removal of a criminal from society "trumps" the rules of law, common sense and moral decency.

This being in Carry on Nurse 1959 with Jill as Jill the bookish sister of Williams' college room mate who he successfully woos from his hospital bed. (the other was Elke Sommer in Carry on Behind 1975 some 16 years later as the sexually voracious Professor Anna Vooshka)

Not True, the last time the UK was invaded was during the 1812 US/UK war when an American warship blown off course landed on the West Coast of England in the fishing town of Whitehaven. 30 members of the crew including Captain John Jones rowed ashore and invaded the town, leaving only one officer and two seamen on board as caretakers. The astonished Locals offered the invaders Ale and dinner at the local Tavern and gave them directions to the home of the local Lord of the manor Lord Selkirk, who Jones decided to kidnap for ransom. Unfortunately Lord Selkirk was not at home and his butler gave them his apologies. Determined to not have the raid be a total waste, the captain demanded his Lordships silver as booty, and was presented with the only silver in the house, a Georgian silver Tea service, which they took away with them back to their ship after obtaining a sworn statement from the Butler that this tea pot etc was indeed spoils of war. So when Trump's successor (and father of his business acquaintance) assures him that Putin saber ratting on the Ukrainian boarder is not bad thing for either of them Big Z lapped it up. Time of war is no time to change leaders, so long as Prez Putrid is being an international terrorist Zelensky is in no danger of being ousted from the top seat and gets to play Ukrainian Churchill. Of Course when the cossack hoards actually crossed the boarder and marched in to Ukraine, Zelensky's public image, which up to that point had been spurious at best, suddenly rocketed to the lovable international underdog, the brave little David standing up to the Big bad bald Goliath of Russia, all is forgiven all is forgotten and so long as Z goes on his international personal appearance tour, aid pours in to Ukraine in the form of weapons, support and hard cash from ALL OVER THE WORLD, and all Zelensky has to do is keep smiling, keep being humbly appreciative, and keep out of the way of Russian missiles. NATO gets to fight Russia by proxy, the arms manufacturers coin it in, and gratefully donate to the political parties their cut of the lollipop time, NATO and the EU get new member, wiling to pay for the protection that brings and the news media has another bumper pay day. Everyone's a winner LUVLY JUBLEE. (Except of course from the poor bastards bombed out of their homes, or with dead children on the battle fields, their lives and hopes ruined, but then what else are the poor for?)

THis used to happen a lot to the Angel Moroni Statues (I Moron as I like to call them) blowing his horn, plonked on the top of every Mormon church, until it became a joke that obviously god was smiting the Mormon religion because it was a pile of horse shit, at which point the first presidency ordered them all taken down, claiming it was nothing to do with god, that it was simple physics and a that the metal statues were a fire hazard. My mother was Salvation Army for donkey's years, she only quit when she joined a lunatic Charismatic sect in her sixties, because the Sally Army had, in her words "Gone soft" The very idea of a Paramilitary Christian organisation had always to me seemed highly suspect to begin with, but during the time that my wife was working as a senior carer in a home for homeless geriatric men I heard so many horror stories about the Sallies, that it made my hair stand on end. Such as allowing Homeless people to take a shower, but then charging them 50p for use of a towel after they got soaking wet, or telling them to make do with tissue paper, telling other homeless they were to well dressed to have charity clothes or eat in their soup kitchens, and refuing to help those who would not sing Christian hymns. To the point where many of them would rather freeze than go to the Sally Army for help. Then the final straw came for me when I was working for the Charity Shelter and literally had three 3 Salvation Army Heavies approach my self and three colleagues while we were collecting for the homeless on the street at Christmas and threaten us to go collect elsewhere as we were on their patch and stealing their donations. We had a council permit to collect and they did not, but when I called the police for assistance was told we would have to move as they were not prepared to "Get in the papers for hassling the Salvation Army"
