Moggy or Moggie is a northern term for a cat in the same way that a "Tom" is a slang term for a cat. In Victorian England a Tommy Atkins was a common or garden man (later a soldier, like Jack Tar for a Sailor), like wise a Maggie May was a common woman or a prostitute. Like wise among pedigree breeders a Queen Cat was a female cat and and Sire Cat was a male cat, this all seemed too posh for common street cats, so a male became a "Tom" (also a slang term for a man who solicits a prostitute's services) and a Female "Maggie" as in their human equivalents. Over time Tomcat became the official term for a male cat and "Oop North" a Maggie or Moggie became the name for any street cat, especially those who howled in the night for a mate.

In Agricultural slang a Kyle (pronounced K'Eye-Lee) Is a term for a make shift latrine used by farm workers out in the fields. It is why Kylie Minogue was always funny to me Also in Hebrew a Kyle is a makeshift place of worship such as a tent when a synagogue is not available, some times used as a boys name.
