Many years ago when I was doing a communications module in my management training we were told to NEVER write something down on a memo if it could be avoided because the recipient "Will ALWAYS take the worst possible connotation from the words alone" Years on message boards and in forums has proven this to be true to me, without massive use of memes, emoji's and so forth, the tone , emphasis and accentuation can never fully be indicated. Hence people taking offense at perfectly innocent posts and phrases, assuming sarcasm where none exists, equivocating over word definitions and general arseholery.

My current wife was described by my sick twat of a brother as a "Troll" who I should be ashamed to be seen with. We will shortly be celebrating our thirtieth wedding anniversary and is still to me and the rest of our family the most beautiful person I have ever known, and some one I am privileged to be loved by. LenHazell53 replies on Jan 3, 2021:
@Marionville Yes my Mum stopped buying Rabbit during the myxomatosis outbreak, but my wife won't eat it simply because she had a pet bunny when she was a kid and finds the idea of eating "snowy" repulsive. There is an odd butcher or two in Teesside who still stocks rabbit and some branches of Morrisons, but you are right, it is increasingly difficult to find.

LenHazell53 comments on Jan 1, 2021:
We say the same thing, the BBC is incredibly biased.
LenHazell53 replies on Jan 2, 2021:
@Lorajay The BBC are extremely left wing, bending the knee to SJW opinions and "wokeness" and yet are hypocritical and so will support the government of the day almost unquestioningly to protect the legitimacy of the TV licence fee. There is a tendency therefore to lie by omission, anti government stories found on three of the other four main channels (Networks) will not appear on the BBC (Channel 4 on the whole ends to follow the BBC lead other than in SJW matters where they are far worse and is even more "woke") possibly, this is possibly because the BBC and 4 tend to engage in a lot of joint ventures. If a true critique is wanted of UK law, politics and atrocities, it is necessary to seek out foreign reporting on channels such as CNN which used to broadcast on cable channels in the UK but no longer, RT which the UK government is desperately trying to shut down, Al-jazeera and independent news outlets on the internet.

LenHazell53 replies on Dec 31, 2020:
@Mooolah I did qualify my remark, postscript, with "as I am concerned" I know nothing about your father he may have been or be a good man or an awful man, I simply agree with the expressed sentiment you reported him to hold, as feel as I think you do too that given the lack of evidence for the existence of deity there is no logical standpoint by which an agnostic position can be held to be reasonable, and therefore must spring from an emotional response, most probably and most frequently a fear of the theologically expressed consequence of atheism. I apologise if I was unclear earlier and for my ill expressed attempt at humour.

LenHazell53 replies on Dec 31, 2020:
@silverotter11 He may have been trying to mimic Dustin Hoffman, who back at the start of his career was very choosy about which films he appeared in as he wanted a "Dustin Hoffman" film to be a recognisable brand. Unlike today when he will decide on his appearances only dependant on being allowed to read the quality of paycheck before making up his mind.

LenHazell53 replies on Dec 31, 2020:
@Ray13 At the time Bill was a minor TV star with only one movie lead to his name (Stripes) and was already gaining a reputation as a pain in the arse. He was not the star he is now. He did Tootsie because he needed the money. He only gained his break through role in Ghostbusters, 3 years later because John Belushi died of a drug overdose and his friend Harold Ramis insisted on his inclusion against the wishes of Ivan Reitman who had worked with Murray on both stripes and Meatballs previously, but since Ramis was the writer and the second lead, he caved in on the condition they ensured Murray behaved himself (the same condition he had imposed on them for Belushi). The only other film he had been offered in the meanwhile was the straight role as the lead in "The Razors edge" (made before Ghostbusters but released after it) and again that was offered as a favour to Murray by his old friend John Byrum, when Murray called him up drunk at 4 in the morning and begged for the work.
Self-explanatory.

Bill had his credit removed from the opening titles and all publicity because, as he put it "Tootsie is not a Bill Murray film" (his name is still credited at the end) Out of revenge the production company cut several of Bill's scenes, claiming if he was not going to be a team player and promote the film with his star power, he was not going to be a main character in the film.

His Joe Bodenland Time Travel trilogy is a good place to start, Frankenstein Unbound the first book but chronologically the second story, Dracula Unbound, tells of the invention of time travel and Moreau's Other Island, is set in the same universe but does not feature Bodenland in a primary role. Set in the then distant future dystopia of the early 2000's scientist Joe Bodenland is charged with finding a way of disposing of nuclear waste permanently. He does this by opening a portal in to the "blank time" between the seconds to use as a dumping ground. When the waste matter pollutes the time stream past present and alternate timelines begin to collide with one another. Leaving Bodenland leaping back and forth in time where encountering historical and fictional characters his interference begins impacting on history leaving the present in ever more chaotic states.
