The morality of murder, rape, child abuse has NEVER been in question, just because it was made common and tolerated NEVER made it right, especially in an organisation that claimed to be the representative of of the eternal and ultimate divine moral authority on Earth.

Luckily my wife and I have built bridges with her and made her a part of our family, wherein she or and or her wife to be, are never thought of as "sinners" for simply being true to themselves.

@dumasarok I don't think any reasonable judge would agree, there is a law *exempting* the church from taxation as a privilege, removing that privilege does not require the making of a new law to bring churches in to line with the universally existing law that all citizens and institutions must pay tax at the prescribed rate, it simply removes the exemption. We had a case like this in the UK a few years ago when it was decided that the two Mormon temples in England should pay ground rates and property tax, since by the churches own rules they were not public buildings and so did not qualify for tax exemption. The LDS church tried to fight it but lost on precisely the grounds I have stated, they were not having a new law made to persecute them, they were simply being held to the law as it stands for everyone, because they did not qualify for the exemption from taxation.
There have been 23 deaths this year among Fort Hood's 36,500 soldiers.

@JeffMurray Agnostic by definition is not a word restricted to religion or god(s) people can be agnostic about anything that that lack a knowledge or understanding of I am agnostic about string theory, I understand the principles, but lack certain knowledge that it is the correct explanation for the mathematical modeling carried out since the 1950s, especially when their are equally plausible theories that explain the behaviour of matter and energy at sub microscopic levels equally well loop quantum gravity for example. My objection is based on the use of the term as a form of "Atheism light" for want of a better term. If there is insufficient evidence to justify belief in a deity, and the investigator is intellectually honest the only available conclusion is atheism, the premise is not proven therefore the default position is to assume it is wrong, until such time as more evidence is forthcoming, if ever. The correct conclusion is not to say there is no evidence to justify belief, so I'll sort of believe because the premise is still out there and some day some more evidence might come along, and if it does I want to be able to say "see, told you so" and if it doesn't I want to be able to say " Let's hang on another two thousand years and see what happens" I don't know for certain there is no god(s), but I am not agnostic about it, because if there is is why is it hiding, being completely useless and malicious, and if there is are god(s) the question still stand about why has it been such a completely malicious ass for all this time. Either way it would seem to make no difference to my life, or anyone else's and so is theologically a useless, indecisive, compromise for the frightened closeted religious hypocrite.

Mamet knows how to make a David Mamet film and can rightly judge his own work by his own standards, likewise he can judge other people's works, *by his own standards* That does not make his word law, or even lore and he is as capable of being viewed as wrong in his opinions as anyone else. As are you as am I, but out of morbid curiosity I wonder how it is you feel you can be objective about perfection, when it would seems such a definition must by necessity be subjective?

@MissKathleen There is an old saying that democracies get the governments they deserve, As a people the Americans elect leaders who undervalue the vocations and overpay the parasitic and useless, because the American people have in the last two decades allowed themselves to be corrupted to the point that they grew a cancer in their society of hate, fear, indolence, ignorance, decadence and paranoia, they have allowed a police force that had always been bad to rot to the point that it is so corrupt that it hires on the basis of prejudice and thuggery, rather than the ideal of protecting and serving. You see the injustice of poverty and blame the victims for being lazy, you see injustice in the legal system and blame the victims for not being careful, you see injustice in the political system and call it strength. You see injustice in innovation and you fear it because you worship conformity. You worship celebrity to the point of deification, you allow the TV to be your guide and educator and give preference to the simple and easy to understand, to the version that best serves your interests or agrees with you and your, for want of a better word, philosophies. Worst of all the American people have given in to the brainwashing of ultra capitalism, money is no longer the servant, the medium of exchange, it is the master, it is the stick beats you and the measure by which you judge all things and all people. You spend your life chasing it believing possessing it will make you "better" you spend it on wants rather than necessities and you villifie those who steal it UNLESS they steal enough of it to make them respectable again and then you make them your leaders viewing their willingness to "Do whatever it takes" as laudable. We in the UK are going the same way, and will probably better the lesson and that makes me fear for the future, because unlike many I have learned from the past that empires fall when those in charge fail to learn two things You cannot eat money and no matter how much of it you have it will never be of greater value to someone else as their child's life.
