To put that in prospective there is a 400 billion dollar difference but Chinese debt is very risky and has been declared void on at least two occasions while US debt never has. To put the difference in proper prospective that 400 billion in debt is less than Californians pay for 6 months of electric bills.... Not really all that much at all. The banking system in this country was always defective until FDR signed the 1933 Banking act stopping the periodic crashes this country had been experiencing but the 1929 crash that helped him into office and to pass that legislation was caused by the excessive gambling in unregulated stocks and bonds on Wall Street People were buying stocks with 10% down and gambling they could make the other 90% in the market before the final call. Many stocks were basically shell corporations as well and fraudulent bonds were also commonly being traded.... I suggest you actually study the history of the matter before expressing an opinion because you look really stupid with that one... The sole reason we are having these crashes are the lack of effective regulation since Bush SR and Clinton fucked things up. Clinton was one of the worst when he signed the "Bank Modernization Act" that his wife helped co-author. Our other problem is also easily solved.... Stop allowing tariff free importation of manufactured goods from all countries that allow exploitation or slavery in their labor forces and make the minimum wages in those countries $10 an hour with medical and dental as well as retirement benefits or they have to pay to play....This would also put the US back in a position of moral leadership as well as benefiting the people of those countries by allowing them to earn wages that can not only be lived on but stimulate their economies as well.

@glennlab I am a type 2 diabetic and try to avoid sugar as much as possible. I never have that problem with stevia and the only time you get an after taste is when you use too much. Since it has 400 times the sweetening power of sugar that is easy to do. I go through a 5 pound bag about every three years which works out to replacing about a pallet load of sugar in my diet because I sprinkle that shit on everything. I even have powdered molasses to make artificial brown sugar....
