In his book "12 rules for life". he uses the mythology of Adam and Eve and "the fall" and the story of Cain and Abel to explain our current state several times.. . He gives very complex explanations of what the stories mean when probably a much simpler one would suffice. Life must have been really hard for the people after they gave up the hunter gatherer lifestyle to be agriculturalists and somewhere in the distant memory was this much easier lifestyle. Couldn't this be the garden of Eden they were evicted from. The best explanation of the Cain and Abel story was fromauthor Daniel Quinn. Cain depicted the farmers who grew crops and Abel depicts the nomadic herdsmen and the story is about the conflict between them.

@PBuck0145 The EU is bureaucratic and no one likes bureaucracy apart from maybe bureaucrats. It's a price we have to pay for the benefits which are substantial. There is a lot of nonsense spoken about the EU much of it by people who haven't a clue what they are talking about I don't know where you found that video but it's one of the funniest I have seen. Moravian replies on Jul 6, 2019:
@PontifexMarximus I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. Yes the Act of Settlement denies RCs access to the crown. This was also before the union of the crowns so it could be argued that it has no jurisdiction.in Scotland and despite the fact the NI has some of the most vociferous unionists around the province is just a relic of the British Empire and should really be part of. The Republic of Ireland. The point I was making is that the fact that the queen is head of the church of England has no bearing on whether the UK is a secular stae or not because church and state are totally seperate.and the author makes the common mistake of thinking that England is the UK

@PontifexMarximus Including Canada I believe and Australia ?. The UK does not have a written constitution and the sovereign as head of the Church of England presumably goes back to the split from the Roman Catholic church in the 16th century long before the union of the crowns. I was disappointed to find that it was only the washing machine on spin cycle causing the vibration to the whole structure.
