I have heard this before but surely it is just over elaborating the story. It was common in mythology for god/men to be born of a virgin so this was probably added to the Jesus story to make him more godlike. The first gospel written attributed to "Mark" had no virgin birth and it was probably added by later writers for effect.

That's tough. I have had dozens of tick bites over the years but only once had the tell tale rash, Lyme disease is not so common here but with the milder winters ticks are much more common. I asked my GP for a course of antibiotics and his exact words were "We don't usually give them at this stage" in other words we wait until the disease is established and then have much more difficulty eradicating it. I insisted and he relented and I had no symptoms at all. I have known several people with the full blown disease including a friend who is now in her eighties with a myriad of health problems which may or may not connected to it. I would think the sooner you get treatment the better Good luck.

I think the answer is to take a reasonable sized portion and eat it SLOWLY. I tend to gobble my food and go back for more because I am still hungry. My brother seems to take the regulation 20 chews per mouthfull. He is skinny and I have to watch my weight although I never have been really fat. The rest can then be frozen for use later.

There is a TV series shown in the UK fronted by Ben Fogle where he spends a week with people living "off the grid" Some families some couple and some single persons, both male and female. Fascinating to get an insight into the lives of those people but I think they are the exception and most would struggle without the modern amenities we take for granted.

I have had several discussions with theists about "evil". I submit that it cannot exist as a separate entity. There can be evil acts or even evil people and it can make me angry and have sympathy for those affected by an evil act. Suffering can be caused by evil acts such as the Buddhists treatment of the Rohingya people in Myanmar or to an individual because of illness and just bad luck. The response should be again to have sympathy and help if possible. No need for nay supernatural nonsense.

I just watched a US envoy in London being quizzed about a trade agreement with the UK after Brexit. He was insistent that the NHS would be included in any deal. Sure the NHS has problems with underfunding etc but the last thing we want is some US multinational creaming profit off what is a taxpayer funded institution.

It is easy to blame the NRA but it seems to be a cultural problem. Instead of going and getting drunk and getting in a fight anyone with a grievance gets a gun and shoots up his school,church,workplace. Note, the shooters are invariably male. There is an epidemic of knife crime in London at the moment. There is a stabbing virtually every day. There was a similar situation in Glasgow a few years ago but the police and authorities got to grips with it and now stabbings are very rare. The Metropolitan police in London have approached their Glasgow counterparts for help in combatting the problem. The love of guns seems to be so ingrained in the American Psyche that it will be difficult to eradicate but with the will I'm sure it can be done although it will probably take a generation or more.
