Lot's of good craft ales over there there but they can be a bit strong. One of my favourites is Punk IPA by Brewdog, the Scottish brewer ,who have just built a brewery in Idaho so you should be able to get ti soon. I really like Sixpoint ales from New York

When I was a kid in primary school we had an annual competition collecting and naming wildflowers ( sounds a bit soppy now but we were innocent young things). I could collect a large proportion by just walking through a barley or cornfield. Nowadays there is not one weed or wildflower to be seen.Selective weedkillers have gradually removed the lot. Not good for insects including bees.

This is currently relevant to the UK but could affect any western countries.

I have read lot about this trail and if I was younger I may even attempt to walk at least part of it. Let's hope this can be fought. I am lucky enough to live in Scotland where we have complete freedom to walk anywhere. In England hikers are restricted to official footpaths. On the few occasions I have tried to walk on private property in the US with no trespassing signs on virtually every tree I felt very nervous.

I recently attended the funeral of my late sister in law. I new nothing of her upbringing apart from the fact that she was born and raised in Ireland. It was a humanist funeral and the celebrant said in her eulogy that the poor girl had attended a Roman Catholic convent school and the nuns had treated her so badly that it had put her off religion for life. So the nuns do serve a useful purpose after all.

Today is my 31st birthday and the first one since joining this site.

I think having a driving licence is seen as a right not a privilege these days. There should be mandatory retesting every few years to weed out the incompetents. Driving standards in the UK are poor but better I think than in the USA. tailgating and lane discipline is particularly bad over there.
