I was raised Catholic, but was often sent to the rectory to have a chat with the priest when I had "difficult" questions. I never got satisfying answers. Then I discovered mythology and other religions. I dived into the study of them only to discover no one had satisfying answers.
Then I discovered Hitler was Catholic and the church never excommunicated him! So I looked into the history of Abrahamic religions. Add to that a few vile personal experiences and the BS was undeniable!
So then I discovered that "I don't know" can be the most intelligent answer (and most satisfying) to some questions.
That's when I knew I was not religious. It took a couple more decades for me to become agnostic atheist and less tolerant of religious teachings in general.
But here I am!!
