Where do you get child abuse? She suffered brain death from a botched tonsilectomy. We get it. You don't like kids and think that poor people shouldn't be allowed to breed. Making this sound as though the child was on life support because of abuse is even farther beyond the pale, however. Perhaps you meant keeping her on life support was abuse but if you accept the premise that the child was entirely brain dead, keeping her body alive wouldn't have affected her at all because there would be no conciousness to experience pain or suffering. Somehow I feel like this is just another rant about how expensive and useless poor people are.

Hrmm. There's a lot. I grew up in an extremely dysfunctional extended family. Because of who my parents were I was sheilded from the worst of it but I know intimately the evil that regular people can do and still walk around like nothing happened. My parents illnesses and passing changed me and having children of my own changed me more. I had a really bad health scare at the end of my last pregnancy that really brought home my own mortality. Other than that I have met some amazing and outrageous people along the way and had some adventures of my own. It all shaped me, I think.

I very nearly died today.

At its heart polyamory is recognizing that no one person can be "everything" to someone else. Jealousy is treated as a passing malady and there seems to be a lot of openness and communication. How many good relationships have been destroyed by one partner falling for someone else? How much better is it to recognize that that's a fact of life and make a bigger table instead of throwing out the old in favor of the new? IMO love should not be about owning someone and monogamy and the jealous mate guarding that adds is an extra, unnecessary stressor to relationships. I'm not in a poly relationship, though I've been in one that fits that description ages ago but some of the strongest marriages I know are poly.
