Remember that Muscovy's are popular because they're friendly towards people. Unfortunately, they're rapidly moving many shyer, native waterbird species closer to extinction. They're considered a "pest species" here in Florida - and the wildlife people will come and get them and either "snuff" them or "relocate" them ( I hear they're fatty, and greasy, but tasty). The "Where did it come from" is very "Republican". Let's not try to lay blame on a nation, or people for letting this disease get spread. Let's work to contain it, develop vaccines for it, fund the vaccines, get them spread world wide quickly - so we can make this disease extinct. There's already evolved two tougher, harder-to-kill variants, the Delta and Lambda versions. Let's get off the "where did it come from" and get on the "where is it going" strategy.
