What I've heard is that building and placing alternative energy materials and facilities is creating a lot of jobs. Now - to be fair - when we do transition effectively to wind gen and solar power - when the manufacturing of these devices winds down...there will be a thinning back of the crew... -but that's partially the point. We shouldn't have to employ massive numbers to obtain energy; and our population growth rate is slowing as well. So fewer folk will run more efficient power sources. Hopefully by mid-century there will be a significantly increased number of easier and cheaper to operate cars, power plants and energy producers...and a slowing down...perhaps even a leveling off...of human popuation. All facilities and vehicles will need maintenance. But we are, wisely, also slowing down our population growth. Perhaps some day we will level off - achieve ZPG.....and then perhaps, even decline. If we dont slow down our growth; mother nature will do it for us. Population Density - a critical part of disease transmission. And a lot of other issues. It's been proven; When Dr. John B. Calhoun kept dozens of cages of rats with moveable walls....so he could change the density while keeping them clean, and well fed....discovered that the more crowded together they were...the -more aggressive -more hostile -more hoarding/greedy -more likely to transmit infections/diseases -more abnormal (male-male/female/female sexual behaviors) -grouping/ganging-up and; -less normal sex -less child concern/care -less concern about raising chlidren Many of the overcrowded populations crashed....wouldn't even recover when the numbers got small (due mostly to diseases) Sound familiar? And I read this in my junior year in HS...in 1962. I've kept a copy on my desktop...I share it often. Wake up people.
