@altschmerz I don't consider it bragging. I'm not happy with the overly sensitive nature of the "moderator" who banned me for suggesting that there's wisdom in being decisive about terminating one's life. To not "be decisive about being suicidal" is "false" or "fake" to me. To "feign" a plea for help by saying "Im depressed" or "I'm. suicidal" is - to me - a trigger that I suggest, in return; "Just Do it". That's not bragging. That, to me, is trying to get real. Robecology replies on Apr 11, 2019:
@JackPedigo Sorry...It's Global warming... which is caused by increased population using more fossil fuels adding more CO2 raising the temps to record levels world-wide. We scientists call it "climate change" because the naive and less educated can see and grasp that concept better. But the truth remains. It is Global Warming, caused by; -158 more births, than deaths, per minute, which, in turn, demand -more fuel and energy use which - -as long as we dominate with fossil fuels or even burning any fuel, will- -Add more CO2 faster, ever minute, raising the heat-trapping capacity of our atmosphere... -causing GLOBAL WARMING. -which in turn causes climate shift. https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ The planet's average surface temperature has risen about 2.0 degrees Fahrenheit (1.1 degrees Celsius) since the late 19th century The planet's average surface temperature has risen about 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit (0.9 degrees Celsius) since the late 19th century, a change driven largely by increased carbon dioxide and other human-made emissions into the atmosphere. Most of the warming occurred in the past 35 years, with the five warmest years on record taking place since 2010. Not only was 2016 the warmest year on record, but eight of the 12 months that make up the year — from January through September, with the exception of June — were the warmest on record for those respective months.

Robecology replies on Apr 11, 2019:
@Charlene The problem with us guys (or maybe it's just me) is that I keep a few "travel bags" handy....inside them, in a separate pouch, I keep the condoms....so they tend to get ignored/forgotten. If you read my bio you'll discover I've been married too many times....and have been in and out and in and out of a relationship for the past 13 years...and yes...we've been intimate. But because I've been with one partner for a long time....I've avoided the use of "prophylaxis' ...thus the old condoms were hanging around, unused. I even ordered new ones...but they remained unused...so I forwarded the shipment to a health clinic in Haiti - run by an acupuncturist-friend. I might use this strand to encourage any old, unused condoms be forwarded to her. The "use by" date is a bit of a hoax as most folk know anyway....if the package is sealed the item is useable....and if it can prevent a disease or an unplanned child in a third world nation, I'd feel better than if I just threw it away.
I believe this to be true ??

@JackPedigo Read your own post. You're not only being contrary....you're just being argumentative. "Global warming/Climate Change is not that fever - it is only one part of that fever" Huh? I'm not even sure what your point is...but you're way off topic and rambling. ...and after all this, you say you "disagree with "Population Connection" ? Do you not agree that more people = fewer resources per person = more competition for those fewer resources? The population connection is obvious. My point is simple. Get people to realize the root of our issues Is family planning...get them to realize the value of it...and get them to participate in it.....and all the other problems of humanity will fade away.

Robecology replies on Apr 11, 2019:
@JackPedigo Do you not comprehend the parallel between earth's warming and my "fever" analysis? sorry; a "fever" is an organism's warming in reaction to an infection. Global warming is that fever. Obviously there's consequences to the warming ...floods. droughts, climate shift, loss of resources....but let's stick with the concept of the original meme, shall we? I was just paralleling the earth's warming to the Gaia Hypothesis. In case you're not familiar; read this; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_hypothesis The root cause of all human problems is our success as a species. We're reproducing at a rate of 158 more births, than deaths, per minute. That's 227,000 more per day. A million more every 5 days. We are, using the original meme posted...a very successful parasite that is, indeed, killing its' host. Check this out for details... http://www.poodwaddle.com/worldclock/

Thanks for asking. I'm in car-driver heaven. It's quiet. It's faster than my first one. An even better sound system. It has features I still haven't figured out how to use yet. (the "summon" feature and the "homelink" feature). Two things that are disappointing are 1. The auto-pilot. Very over-hyped. It gets confused crossing the double stripped lines getting in to HOV lanes. It demands hands-on-the-wheel all the time...and if you feel you're coming to close and pull the wheel to firmly the auto-pilot disengages...again...I don't recommend it. 2. The white carpeting. That's kind of my fault....I chose an "on the lot" model instead of being patient and custom designing what I wanted. I already have some serious stains on that white carpeting....not a good decision...but I saved about $5K for choosing a model already there....

Robecology replies on Apr 6, 2019:
@godnot. Sorry, but It had/has little to do with their economic focus. You should do some research first. There's practically no "socialism"here in P.R. or in Haiti...it's a free market economy. The government is weak and practically non-existent. Puerto Rico has beautiful beaches, a simple, religious, but family size-aware population, and a potential to be the Hawaii of the East coast if they continue as they are. The problem is that in Haiti they are unbridled with their reproductive rate. They reproduce far faster, and have many more children than the average Caribbean nation. Couple that with their religious focus; almost a cross between Catholicism and voodoo...and you have people praising god for large families, and tolerating the high infant mortality rate. The nation that shares the same island - the Dominican Republic - is different politically, and economically....but they still suffer a lot of poverty, and large, unplanned families. But your original comment "only through capitalism" is naive at best. Do some research before you make general comments like that. https://socialistworker.org/2018/01/15/the-causes-of-haitis-suffering
