This is a great science experiment for any of your kids stuck at home. Lay out 10 (or multiples of 10) evenly distant on a wet towel surface Keep it wet. Moisten with purified water, if possible, to eliminate variables. Take pictures of each set once one has germinated. Be consistent with your watering time, amounts, and time of day the pic is taken (the goal...eliminate variables). Remember; a control would be fresh seeds, or seed types that create 100% germination. (that's why the sets of 10...to keep it mathematically simple). Print out the pics...make graphs...Easy, valid science experiment; most elementary and/or Jr. Hi science competitions would welcome a well done, clearly illustrated experiment like this. Don't take on too many seed types/ages; remember the KISS rule (Keep it Short and Simple).

This reminds me of the profound changes we felt after 9/11. Tighter security everywhere. Paranoia penetrating deeply. This will have strong affect on 'intimacy". Everyone - or at least most who are concerned/aware - are working to be cleaner, more sanitary, more germ and contagion conscious. Many of us are working harder on "fitness"...this might have an effect of a slowing of the population growth, a slowing of the growth of pollution.

My greatest weakness? I'm not a "procrastinator" like many on this page admit...I like getting things done. My greatest weakness is intolerance of lovers, friends, acquaintences and others who aren't on the same page. I do think that's why I'm alone....but I can't complain...I sort of like it like this. I empathize; and I get a sense that the film maker and reporter are a bit "heightist" I'm a short (5' 6") man as well...and I have felt the pressures and challenges of dating taller women. But please. Forget "social mores"....it's just harder to make love with a woman not near your height..and our choices of women as tall as us or shorter are obviously limited. I almost feel sorry for very tall men, as well...but they have/had a much larger field of choices just by being taller. So let's stop with the psychoanalysis. it's just tougher out there for us shorter men. I wasn't a "lost and lonely" young man...I had a nice career, had 2 kids and some good relationships...and now - although alone....I am enjoying my retirement. I'm retired (and on a Fl teacher's benefits...not much) plus SS gives me decent income....can't complain...car (Tesla) is my retirement "toy"...so I tighten my belt in other areas... Food basics include Chicken and fish..I bought a small package of 93% fat free beef to put in my roll-up lasagna (recipe in the foodie section a few months ago) - but other than that; chillin on the computer - bike ride 1/2-1 hour a day to get outside....that's it!

I became friendly with it as a child...had no idea the plans were to kill and cook it....It's the first time (and last) I couldn't eat a chicken meal. Happliy, now, pet-free. I thought about adopting a Greyhound (I read that many dog racing tracks are closing...) but every time I ask a price I get an absurd number...so...no thanks...

That makes me recall when my students were on a "birdhouse-making" kick...in the 70's -80's....I gave out plans; and lots of kids made some great ones. Our H.S. Ecology club sold them for a profit for a few years... Did you know that if you want to keep the very aggressive starling from taking over birdhouse nesting of shyer native birds...all you have to do is mount a mirror in the back of the box opposite the entrance?
