This is a tough one. I've been through a wife dying young...so it taught me a few lessons in letting go and moving on. Women have left me....and I've left them. Of course it's painful. It's rarely "cut and dry" - there's often not very good reasons for "letting someone go" out of your life; and they have their reasons for letting you go as well. Ken Keyes Jr. has many words of wisdom for this situation. One of his favorites of mine is "Hold on tightly, but let go lightly" Another of his is "make your addictions (must haves) in to preferences (would be nice to have...but you can do without)." Another of his is "go from love, to hate, to indifference as quickly as possible". Erase contacts. Remove them from your phone and address book. They probably have a list of things about you that they detest...so it's wise to look at the relationship as a two way street. Try to learn lessons from each experience...what was it that "drove them crazy" about you? It's only fair to reflect on that...and try to change a bit.

Pierce, Florida, on South Hutchinson island)...opened up the shutters....wind still howling, and the clouds still making a huge semi-circular pattern - following Dorian's departure from this area. To think that the eye of this former SS #5 was less than 100 miles away less than 24 hours ago is still amazing to me...but I just had the best nap I've had in a few days...and I'm looking forward to finally sleeping in my own bed after more than a week of being away.

As a resident on the East coast of Florida (just north of Port St. Lucie....see map, above) ...this has been one weird journey! I live in a high rise right on the ocean...so we were told to shutter up and find another place to stay. Old Doreen in the penthouse stayed...and even left her windows unshuttered....she's a tough old bird....visions of Captain Dan riding the top of the mast come to mind (from Forrest Gump).... But I digress.... I went to stay with my son and his wife and 3 year old - 60 miles south and a dozen or so miles inland in Jupiter...but they had just moved in to a new home...complete with no furniture (or anything) delivered...so we had to go buy inflatable mattresses and utensils, and food. Then we discovered (via an emergency call to a plumber) that the previous owners had botched the drain repairs....so both sinks were clogged, and the bathtub was backing up....and that was just the beginning of the mess. Fortunately the storm turned northward...and as the meme above artfully expresses...is taking forever to move out of our area. I honestly don't look at "greed" as an intentional "evil". Remember; the concept of 'evil' is #religulous....us agnostics see. no evidence for genetic or "devil' induced evil. They don't have any ill will in mind when they make clever buys on stock or businesses purchased - that soar in price...then sell it and gain profit. What they do have....is greed. It just so happens that right now there's still quick money to be had with Fossil fuels, fossil fuel cars, drugs, and war equipment. They look at the poor/third world dying off as a "necessary consequence" for our direction, and abuses. The #religulous call it "god's mysterious way".... But greed is not only an addiction - it's the perfect addiction. Much better than drugs. Nothing to "take/shoot/snort/smoke" No chemical attack on your body...just a risk with finances....and if you're clever it's others' money. Your family hates you and cries for you if you're a drug addict. If you're a money addict they applaud you. And the better you are at it, the more food, better cars. better adventures, better sex, etc you get. But it is an addiction. Probably more deadly than a drug addiction. If you get good at it....the increased "things" get boring - and you want more. And if you suddenly lose it; the complications for big money loss send many to suicide. 25 August 2019 - Diet Diary - Took another day off yesterday.

I too "took a day off" from dieting...enjoyed a cheesy spinach dip, a croissant, and other rich delicacies. ....and I'm repeating it here to remind myself that I splurged...now it's time to pull back and tighten up. So don't kick yourself for the "day off"....we all need it.... I'm not a calorie counter like you....just a portion and hunger control POV...trying to get back under 140 where I belong....

For anyone who thinks that i was a point whore, I posted this in not the most popular group, though ...

Paranoid about going for points? That's the way the website is set up.... you're not a "whore" if you post for points...it's simply an achievement thing. Let's stop associating attempts at achievement with "whoring" anyway. I wish some fine woman would "whore" me....

Indeed...i honestly think it's a matter of a very strong "traditional" environment.... if the parents are "believers" either in a God...or in "spoiling" children .... then the child will grow up with that strong tradition.... and pass it on to their children. I've meet too many very intelligent,degreed individuals who are indeed religious...or suffering obesity from a childhood tradition of "spoiling" the child...or both... ....and their children grow up...regardless of IQ....with that same "addiction"...to either faith....or food....often both.

This "expiration" posted on packaging is obviously done with commercial intention. You taste stuff; if it tastes bad you spit it out and discard it.. .and by discard it...let's not "throw it away"... there's Compacting tools, Composting buckets, sink incinerators...use them first. I will never pay any attention to the "use by" or "expiration" date.... my senses and wisdom is functioning... I won't depend on folks trying to get rich by having you discard their product and buy new before it's time to do so.
