Nice! But the Jalapeños give it too much (chemical) heat, IMO... I've always enjoyed Salsa....and just "kicked it up a notch"...or should I say "enriched" it...by adding sun-dried tomatoes. If you're working from scratch, as in the above recipe...just throw in a small container. I get individual baggies of them at the local food stand in Ft. Pierce. The trick is to puree the dried tomatoes in with the salsa. It makes it thicker, more tomato-y, and IMO...far more delicious.

As the years rolled on, and my coffee tastes refined, I reduced my sugar and creamer....I now enjoy almost pure coffee, with a small amount (1 rounded teaspoon) per 8 oz cup. I never buy store or coffee shop coffee. And I usually use a gold-mesh filter, but sometimes (when company comes) a paper filter.

Sorry you're not watching Progressives who care deeply for our nations future are paying close attention to every voice. I'm not suggesting you don't care deeply; I'm suggesting that those who are watching - in general - care more, and want to be a better educated voter. Media highlights of the debates are just that - highlights. Watching each debate is an education for anyone who participates...and an educated voter is more valuable than a voter who's just viewed "highlights".

I'm not sure if the above comments are from the article or are yours, @Altschmerz, But I found the following alarming comment in the article - which does point to the need to rapidly move out of fossil fuels in to alternative energy sources; "As we all know, we cannot keep burning fossil fuels. If we do, we will rapidly make earth uninhabitable for complex life, including humans. Volcanoes burning buried fossilized carbon caused the greatest extinction event in earth’s history, the Permian-Triassic extinction, also known as “the Great Dying.” Much deadlier than the asteroid that decimated the dinosaurs, the Great Dying killed most life on earth and in the oceans. Today, we’re burning fossilized carbon ten times faster than those ancient volcanoes did." Again....that's Ten times faster than the rate we traced in the "great dying" era of the Permian-Triassic extinction. There's just no need to be angry about any confrontation from a theist...unless you're uncertain...and (s)he's "pushing your buttons"...and knows you'll get upset. Agnostics say we "don't know" - with no evidence of a god, there's no proof. There's atheist agnostics who bet no god. There's Theist Agnostics who bet the possibility of a god.. But again...we - agnostics - just don't know. Nothing to be angry about, or to declare "fuck god".... "Maybe she exists...maybe she doesn't".... is my answer... Hi, Dot... I hear you about the low-sugar thing...I've swtiched from straight sugar to splenda (sucralose) and sugar (in my AM coffee) Sucralose, BTW is by far the safest of all the artificial sugars...it's just one molecule away from sucrose (C6H12O6) so the liver and kidneys can metabolize it easily. Straight sugar gives me a jittery "high" anyway....I'm sure I'm borderline diabetic. Back up to 149....just passed "birthday" weekend so I'm struggling with rich cakes and brownies that well intended (but thoughtless) friends gave me....and of course I can't just "dump" them! You've inspired me to get my a....s in gear and go swim some laps...

#1. Try facebook...there's plenty of Christian groups that accept comments. #2 You're pretty much wasting your time. They've deeply brain-washed with the myth of religion. #3. There's been thousands of fossil evidence unearthed about the sequencing of human evolution. A book you need to read in "Origins Reconsidered" by Richard Leakey. The "canning" of foods has gotten very sophisticated. Remember, "canning" is nothing more than cooking food and their containers, then putting the cooked food in to "cooked" containers (cans or jars) that, once they're sealed, also shrink as they cool, creating a vacuum that makes any surviving bacteria/molds/decomposers starve. As we get closer to global warming extremes, you can and should expect longer power outages. Folks with gas cooking will have the adantage of being able to "Can" or "preserve" foods that those of us with just electricity won't have. Using pure nitrogen gas inside these packs also stops "oxidation" and starves 'aerobic" (oxygen breathing) bacteria...so that's one trick. (You might have heard about tire dealers using pure nitrogen to make the inside of your tires last longer). Vitamin C...ascorbic acid...has also proven to be an excellent preservative. And there's many more chemicals and techniques....most quite safe....although there were some experimental drugs that were used that created problems and issues. But today's "preserved foods"...even those from a couple of decades ago...are pretty safe. Those "use by" labels? That's relatively new...and used more to encourage you to replace older foods...than to warn you of them becoming dangerous. I even did a similar post a few months ago about very outdated "condoms" ....chances are good that they're still "useable and safe" as well...
